cwebb, after breaking up with someone, whether you were the breaker or the breakee, how your former significant other acts AFTER you split is the BEST way to tell what kind of person you were truly dating. For example, what your ex did to you was immature, malicious, and downright evil. Do you wish you still dated someone who posseses those qualities? I hope not! Her actions are COMPLETE proof that you are better off without her and you should feel pity for anybody that gets involved with her. Don't go jumping out any windows, don't give her that satisfaction, she doesn't deserve it. Remain calm, avoid her if you can, and if you can't, just turn the other cheek and go about your business.
I second droxford's advice as well. Erase that horrible being from your life, surround yourself with close friends, work out as often as you can (it is the best way to vent and it is also a natural way to fight depression), avoid the booze, before you know it you'll be back in the saddle again!

Do what ya gotta do to get over it. I'm a firm believer in what goes around comes around. Depending on the person you are, you might want to set up the "comes around" part. On a serious note, you don't know how many guys she's done this with and you need to get an STD check-up ASAP. On a not-so-serious note, go out and have as much fun as possible. Get her out of your mind. Date around and use the "i just got out of a 3 yr relationship" card. The only way she deeply hurt you was by ruining whatever respect you had for her. Any breakup of this matter will take its time, but you're infinitely better off knowing you have a brighter future ahead of you.

Come on man, you should get up in the mornings and live your own life and then have your girlfriend or whatever ADD to that to enhance your life, she needs to know that you love her and want her in your life, but if shes not there then you will be fine too.
