As far as I'm concerned if it's "Eat or be killed" then there are more humanely ways of disposing of animals. Throwing puppies into a river so that they can drown is hardly humane and is ridiculous. Forgive me for having a heart that isn't made of stone like yours.
I read that as sarcasm, that the reaction was overwrought. Sorry, you are an advanced human. My heart is made of room temperature butter. I wouldn't last a minute out in the jungle.
yeah it's f***ed up. ...and so is slaughtering cattle. ...and I've come to accept it. My thoughts are: "I know that it's f***ed up that cattle are slaughtered. I must accept that in order to happily eat my tasty steak. That also means that when I see somebody killing puppies, I forfeit my right to vocally object. So be it." In the eyes of some, that might make me a heartless carnivore. But I try not to be a heartless hypocritical carnivore. and if it had been CATS.......well... don't get me started.

I'm surprised that some on this board don't see the difference of killing cattle for food and throwing puppies in a river for a laugh. How do those 2 scenarios even relate?
No. I do not think the reaction is overwrought. She obviously derived pleasure from what she was doing when videotaping it and someone with her or herself saying, "Whee." I was just encouraging 4chan to do what they do. And was sad to hear the puppy yelping before being flung into the river.
i agree with dubious that this is such a low priority tragedy. however, droxford's argument for accepting injustice is weak. why can't we make animal husbandry more humane? why not?
More humane compared to what? getting torn limb from limb by wolves? I'd be one to say that the relationship of American meat producers and their stock is symbiotic and as long as some sensitivity is paid to the circumstances of their killing I find it morally acceptable.
i'm a meat eater. it's not about them having a nice life per se, but if they feed on natural foods and aren't eating there own feces (or whatever horror story you want to throw in here), then the food might taste better and be healthier.
Wow.. I thought people would take this thread more seriously.. I guess to y'all, throwing puppies in the river is funny. I understand that every day, all over the world some type of animal is being the victim of cruelty or being killed, but what this b**** did was another kind of crazy. She made up her mind that she was going to throw PUPPIES river, what a psycho freak. Just because animal cruelty happens all the time, doesn't make it right.
