yeah - I wanted to hear Ima say that. note: I fee that I should point out that I am absolutely NOT a vegetarian, vegan, PETA, or supporter of animal rights.
I'm not going to watch this video just like I didn't watch the high heels kitten video. I will get really pissed of and it will ruin my day. One more step towards vegetarianism so I don't have to be part of the problem.
That's just horrible! In small towns in Mexico, they beat their dogs to death if they are sick, or if they ate a chicken (for example) When i was little and i went to mexico, my grandpa's doberman bit my cousin in the face (she was bothering it), so my uncles tied him to the back of a truck and dragged him for miles. The dog didn't die, so they beat him to death. It's horrible what people do to animals!
Was that wrong? Was I not supposed to do that? Puppies, cows, medical experiments and this .... all examples of the continuous dance of the universal ethics debate. You certainly have to factor in the symbiotic relationships, the humanity taken with necessary killing, the benefit to humans, and maybe even the relative level of consciousness of different animals. Then you have the mental health issues, what constitutes psychopathic and anti-social behavior. What might have led a human to commit sadistic acts. What need made the people film and broadcast this act. Outside events may have resulted in the damage to these human psyches. Maybe is was a deconstructionist art project in an attempt to bring the debate about the ethical treatment of animals to the forefront of public attention with the new viral medium. If it was it would seemed to have worked. Maybe it was an act that served the greater good.
Yep, not every thought needs to be posted just for the sake of an argument.. Be compassionate once in awhile... I don't think these same posters would dare post on 4chan or aicn talkback...
How about we all just focus on the fact that some random chick started hurling puppies into a river instead of creating useless hypothetical caveats that dont matter. I dont understand how even the most hardcore meat eater cant stop and say that this is ****ed up. The fact that we might brutally kill animals in American farms or that some people in Asia eat dogs doesnt make this any less ****ed up.
The specific act is so small as to be of no consequence in a world where the very basis of life is 'kill and eat, be killed and be eaten". What is interesting is the reaction to it and how it relates to an advancing consciousness that is evolving in humans.
