terrible analogy... but I get where you're going with it.. a more suitable comparison would be what Andrea Yates did... these people are just ***ked in the head... eat more chikin
if this was something done to control the animal population, similar to what Juan Valdez described, then i can there logic in thinking killing them is the best thing....BUT it doesnt justify her having fun while doing it, and putting them through more stress than was needed. It's pretty much torture. No need to fling them like that, that alone would freak them out. Then they'd hit the water pretty hard, which also would inflict some pain/stress, and if that doesnt kill them then they'd struggle with the water for a while until they died. It's like deciding to put down a horse or pit bull and doing it by tying them up and launching them into the ocean or something. I can't believe that they couldn't find a better way of putting them down and the, "they carry a million diseases", excuse it stupid.
In many rural farm settings, this is an acceptable animal control method. Probably more so in a backwater rural country. Sad, but true. This does not excuse the glee in which she performed a tasteless act.
*note to animals* If you acknowledge humans with interaction we are less likely to kill and maim you.
I just don't understand why everyone here gets their panties in a wad over this. Ya know what? Right now, there's a group of guys paying thousands of dollars to fly to Africa, drive out to the middle of nowhere, find a lion (in his natural habitat), shoot him (just for the thrill of it), cut his head off, and have the head stuffed and mounted on a wall. In fact, there's a BUNCH of people doing that, just for fun, for all kinds of animals... deer, bear, moose... you name it, all over the world. Why the hell aren't you people getting all riled up over that? So some chick is doing a bad job of getting rid of some puppies. BIG F'ING DEAL It's not the first time. It's not the last time. I'm not saying it's right. I'm saying it's commonplace. Do you not realize that this stuff happens all the time? Is it only when you see video of it that you realize it happens? It happens! People do stupid, terrible stuff to animals! ... all the time! What's even worse is - people do stupid terrible stuff to other people! Save your venom for them.
Drox, it's not about the animal. As with everything it is about our fears for our own mortality. When you are walking down the street, anybody you pass could choose to kill you for you $10 watch. They usually don't because we have developed a system of morals that socializes us against such behavior. If you had been a Cro-Magnon man 50,000 years ago, that may not have been the case. It's the breeches in generally accepted behavior that appalls us because the social order is being threatened. And that my friend is the only thing keeping me from killing you for your watch. (I could get a way with it)
I kinda wanna ask, but then I don't... but... meh, I'll ask anyway: How did your aunt figure out one was "the best one"?!?!?! Did it do flips, cook an omelet, built a gazebo, spoke Spanish, what?
When it comes to emotions, some people stay in the moment. While others, for their reasons, will try to see a bigger picture. Either option has its worth. Me? I like dealing with emotions...feel a bit more spiritually connected to the world.
because this is a thread dedicated to this topic. It also has the title "Girl Throws Puppies in river"
That is such asinine logic. Of course bad stuff happens, no one's saying that any of that stuff is ok that you listed. Just because you dont see threads about other stuff doesnt mean anyone condones it. In fact, the key here is that there is VIDEO of it. The fact that we are witnessing a girl throw puppies into a river is what elicits the reaction. It's much easier to vocally show your anger when you see it firsthand. There are plenty of horrible things in the world but when someone posts video of it, you cant be surprised that anyone show their anger. All you're doing is making a really weak argument for embracing nihilism and thankfully most people dont agree with you.
As I posted on the page before this one, why don't you see this type of reaction when people feed live, baby mice to their pets for their own enjoyment? There are other methods that are more humane than that? What about people who trap animals and watch them suffer or leave them to die? What about people who shoot animals that don't die right away? Here are two more videos of what should be considered inhumane treatment: <object width="480" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/kKxE_Ct3_SM?fs=1&hl=en_US"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/kKxE_Ct3_SM?fs=1&hl=en_US" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="480" height="385"></embed></object> <object width="480" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/AqWzUQ8lp3M?fs=1&hl=en_US"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/AqWzUQ8lp3M?fs=1&hl=en_US" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="480" height="385"></embed></object>
