    it seems to you wrong.

    best example at my school. us history. you could take on-grade or AP. ap was an absolute ass-buster, on-grade was not. i would have gladly taken the on-grade if it had counted the same in terms of gpa.

    oh and listen girl in the article, i was the salutatorian to my best friend and the school didn't inform me that i was being moved from 1st to 2nd until 3 months into our last semester (iow 3 months after grades stopped counting) b/c of some error they had made dating back to 10th grade. oh and why did i lose? b/c i took health when it counted for gpa credit (ongrade gpa credit) whereas my best friend took it (on the advice of his counselor from way back in freshman yeary, advice my counselor didn't give me) 2nd semester of our senior year when it didn't count against gpa. so i lost by 0.6 gpa points (like 289 to 288.4 or something) and did i sue? no, i took it like a man. well like a man who didn't talk to his best friend for 2 days (which was followed by about a week of uneasiness b/t us), but like a man nonetheless. even worse as the salutatorian they still make you give a speech, although at least it's a short one, mine was a whopping 80 seconds long iirc. so basically, suing is stupid.

    and after that week or so, me and my friend were cool (as i knew we would be) and we're still best friends.

    If she's so smart, make her represent herself.

    No, because technically their bodies are still alive. It's only their souls that are dead. ;)

    Back in my days when I went to school, in my freshmen year, they had a valed.. After that, they stopped doing it. Some crap about "competition" and other crap. Isn't that the whole point?
    In my school or district we have the 6.0 scale.

    6 = A
    5 = B
    4 = c
    3 = D
    2 = F (i think)

    That scale is for on level classes. The (h) level classes I guess you could say.

    The K level classes are the higher up classes.

    The scale on that is
    7 = A
    6 = B
    ...

    And then there was the not so on level. The kids that take meds, and need help walking around the school level.

    5 = A
    4 = B..

    THe honor class had the same scale as the K guys, but you also had college credit.

    anyway, um, during my graduating class, i think they randomly picked somebody with a high gpa. If i recall correctly the person with the highest gpa wasnt me.

    I wasn't even close. BUt his gpa was like 6.98 and some change.

    I don't think he gave the speech. You know how boring that would be? No Charisma. No nothing.

    THe class president gave the speech I think. I have it on tape somewhere. I never watched it.

    ya know, I don't know what my whole post was about.

    Nope, but close.

    Hoover is the largest in Alabama, I believe (you can tell because they win in every sport).

    I'm at Central (T-Town, not Phoenix City; those eastern time zone Nazis!!!).

    It's still goinna be 6A, though.

    Man, I can just picture myself at Bellaire right now, actually trying.

    HA!

    what a total nerd! and a nasty vain b**** to boot... obviously HER parents never taught her to share with her peers...

    in my high school, in my year, out of 163 students, we had 12 valedictorians all with 4.0 GPAs. our school didn't weight GPAs or give A+'s. no one complained. we even had to have a speech contest just to see who would speak at the graduation.

    it wasn't a big deal at all. we all knew each other anyway. and the ceremony was just a pompous formality, many of the tougest guys didn't even bother showing up.

    :rolleyes:
