It's not about money and what you bought her.

Again it is not about you going anywhere and you spending money on her.

She started with an apology, but she is not really apologizing. The first thing you say to her better be sorry.

Case in point. She wants you to pay enough attention to her that you will catch all her non verbal clues. I'm sure this isn't the first time she has made a comment about your beard. The fact that she went in her room and played on her phone is a sign of boredom. She wants you to pay attention to her not the game. DVR that ish. sit with her, make her dinner, go window shopping with her and watch her as she tries on clothes. You don't even have to buy anything, expect maybe some chocolate or ice cream. Spend time on Her.

I wrote some other stuff but somehow I deleted it. Oh well.

    Simple.

With women it isn't about what you do for them, it's about what you do with them.

Your problem is that you're putting the p***y on a pedestal.

    Wow.. this is bad news.

Its clear as day she's losing (if not lost all) interest in you. She's making excuses for what it seems like her lashing out. She's nit picking over petty things, that a girl who was really into you wouldn't even notice. Truthfully, the petty things aren't the problem or what she's mad about. She's mad because she isn't happy and she losing/lost feelings for you. She can't say it outright, because its not your fault (it's just the way it is), so she's blaming it on other things. Such as not saying good night, give me a break. Also ridiculous is how she said "Yeah u offered to make dinner why couldn't u just get up and make it without saying anything to me?" never have I heard a girl complain about HOW I go about MAKING her dinner, sheesh. "You want to kiss me and I say no cause your beard hurts why couldn't you go shave?" If a girl liked you, she wouldn't care about a scratchy beard. She's blaming her not kissing you on you not shaving, Wow. In reality, she didn't want to kiss you.

Now she's walking all over you and sending you backhanded apology emails, which if you accept on treat her the same as you've always treated her, she'll even lose more respect.

Honestly like someone else said, she's getting ready to break up with you. Whether she already decided in her mind and preparing how to drop the bomb, or sorting things out (rationalizing why she should break up with you) in her head, she's basically getting ready to break up.

When she does, she'll probably blame it on something completely unrelated for her real reason for breaking up with you, then you'll be sitting there wondering "WHY?" because her explanation doesn't make sense. Of course it doesn't because thats not why she broke up with you.

I have found women are pretty weird about their birthdays.

That said, in general you need a woman that likes you more than you like her. I know this is probably not what you want to hear but if you do marry this one the whining, complaining, etc is only going to get more intense, more annoying and more selfish.

This is like cesar milan dog whisperer you are either the dominant or the submissive. She has made you a complaint department submissive. She is the alpha dog here and she is peeing on you in terms of tone and mindset. I have gone out with plenty like her and unfortunately sounds like you are on the bad end in the liking dept. liking a woman and wanting her with her in the dominance is not a good place to be.

My wife was after me and wanted me. I liked her but I was at a point where I wasn't wanting a relationship. She treated me overly well and was all on it.

Now we are married and she complains if I dont birthday her the way she envisions, but she definitely takes the time to treat me well and buy into it. I dont want to sound like the braggers on this site since anyone can find an attractive/smart/good lady. ANYONE.

The trick is that they like you more. Seems counter intuitive to what you may want, but you need a good lady that worships you. Sounds like this 'Jess' doesnt fit that. girls like jess are good for smashing and that's really about it unfortunately. Im sure she is attractive or smart, nice, good in bed but do you want to be with a lamed out complainer all the time? NO FUN

Dude what the hell.... Just dump her. Let her figure out how to do the things you've done for her. Jesus what the hell is it with women and their birthdays?? As if guys actually give a ****. Nothing in that email had anything tangible in it, let alone a reason to truly be upset. You don't need that and I sincerely hope you don't marry this one or you'll be miserable. There are plenty of (somewhat) sensible women out there.

I could believe what you said and give the benefit of doubt, but I think the original post is really telling. If the only problem here is her feeling "special", excuse my language but she wouldn't b*tch about HOW he went about making her dinner. He's making her a DAMN dinner! Wow.

If she wanted to kiss him, she would kiss him. If a woman wants to, she'd take his *** to the bathroom, make him shave, AND THEN kiss him. But nope, she just didn't kiss him, cause she didn't want to.

Later, after the fact, she blamed it on the beard. I don't buy that, neither should you.

    She's nuts!

I don't know that she is necessarily losing interest in you, I do know she sounds like a biotch.

Let me put up my version. Women don't like you for WHAT you do for them, they have to like you for WHO you are.

Not all girls all the same.

This one sounds like a nagger x1000.

You could find nice ones that wouldn't even make a big deal out of anything she b****ed about.

It sounds more like he is losing interest. It was her birthday, so she probably just thought it would go differently and got emo over it. Some girls are really materialistic and others aren't. It sounds like she isn't, but he's taking that approach with her and trying to spend money to make her happy, which it doesn't and he's frustrated over that result.

So, change your approach or break up with her.

I think I agree with all this, except for probably the reasoning at the end for the break up. I do believe she is giving you hints that you two are in the brink of almost breaking it up.

I am married and have two daughters so I probably don't remember these things from our relationship before all that, but more than likely we didn't run into those petty complaints until after we got married. I got lazy about things, like maybe failing to listen to her while I watched the game, to which I explained that sometimes, I had to watch the ROCKETS... or the TEXANS... and she quickly accepted this, mainly because she's also a Rockets' fan. Also, we have had the little fight about not shaving, but that was quickly solved with an "ugh, I think I need to shave... do you think I need to shave?" from me, to which she quickly replied "YES" but she never told me that until I asked.

I think that WITHOUT Comcast to watch the Rockets' games, there are less breakup threads in the Hangout.

One of the things I am catching on her tone of voice and her usage of verbs, is that everything she mentions is in the past, and she sees nothing in the future (see "I just wish you would have tried other things to make it a special day for me"), and she says these things a couple of times. Nothing is in the future tense. Everyone has FUTURE birthdays, but they might not be wanting to share them with you anymore.

If you want to pursue this any longer, explain to her your reasons, apologize later, and tell her again after this weekend, to see how she reacts. After all, there are other ways you two can kiss where it doesn't get in the way, and you both can try that. Also, KEEP YOUR BEARD. Such little thing shouldn't make you two break up because she shouldn't be attracted to only your naked chin.

You shouldn't have ignored her last night. The game had lots of timeouts, and she was up and y'all could have had sexy make up time from the lunch thing and from not taking her out. What was the reasoning for all that (ignoring her, not doing something at night)?

    EDIT:
    Agreed with this, too.

The sad thing is. I'm completely opposite. I could care less if my birthday is perfect or if things don't happen my way. If I don't get any attention or loving, it does not bother me.

I somewhat agree. The whole car repo'ed/her relying on him post made me second guess the situation.

This is obviously something that's has been building up for a while so now she's just picking every little thing apart.

Sounds like they both need to have a serious sit down and decide whether or not the relationship should keep going.
