Broken bones at her age are very problematic because people are very slow to heal and complications are more common. Injuries that stop you from walking are probably the worst, but broken ribs shouldn't do that to her I wouldn't think.
Falls at that age, especially with broken bones, are no bueno. I've had multiple family members where a fall was the "beginning of the end". Its not the fall, its the complications that come along with the broken bones when you are in your 80s or 90s. Judge Judy said in an interview that she asked her Doctor how to live a long time and he said "Don't fall". I hope she has a good recovery. Hopefully despite pain, she can get up and move around. That is key.

The supreme court has become a political position. Why the heck have life time appointments. They can essentially make up whatever argument they want to justify or not justify a law.
While I would love for her to retire I do not want it to be for anything like this. I wish her a speedy recovery.
This is the emerging problem in our Democracy. Right and wrong have become simply whatever the person in power says it is.
I hope so …. despite the fact that a 5/4 conservative leaning court has ruled on nearly every major case in recent memory including civil rights issues that conservatives are generally against (roe / gay marriage / ACA) getting them right - I don't think a 6-3 majority for either party is healthy for America. I really wish they would revisit citizens united and get corporations out of our elections. That one was world altering and helped create much of the divisiveness we've seen since the decision.
