It was exactly as JVG said about that last 3 pointer: a foul earlier in the game, but not at the end of the game. You want players to make plays to win the game - not rely on the ref to send them to the free throw line. How many times do we complain about refs (especially Crawford) making the game about themselves? This time they don't, and people still aren't happy. And besides, as far as fouls go, it wasn't a hard foul or anything. So I have no problem with Ginobili not getting the call. Surprisingly good job of reffing last night.
I thought the Refs let the players determine the outcome of the game...and not the refs..foul or no foul call...the aggressive players at crunch times always get the benefit of the doubt...
I dont see this egregious foul every one is crying about.. Spurs have shot 30+ more free throws this series despite shooting a lot jumpers.
That wasn't one of those soft fouls, Manu had no chance. Clear foul. Travel? Not in the NBA, maybe NCAA.
This is an obvious travel. Not even close The foul is negligible if any - the type that doesn't get called at the end of games. But the travel is so obvious Stevie Wonder can see it
It was a travel and a foul...end of story... but just being down by 1 point, why not call a time out and bring in TP...and set up for the game winner...
Not in the NCAA either, but definitely in the Olympics. I'm not a huge fan of the argument of "that's a foul earlier in the game but let them play late". Isn't the one thing we ask most of refs consistency? If your calling contact on threes fouls then call that on Bosh too, if you're calling fouls on could on a drive then call that on Ray. Also the worst call of the game is overlooked because replay allowed them to reverse it. But take a look on that Danny Green ball strip where Lebron loses the ball on the fast break. First of all, in my opinion, it was an offensive foul on LBJ with his left elbow into Green but after the strip Lebron touches the ball about 4 times as Green is on the floor and the ball goes out of bounds. The ref then signals that it's still Heat ball. I know what the ref was doing, not calling a blocking foul on Green so I'll give the Heat the ball as consolation, but that was such an obvious possession call that the ref knew could be reviewed and he still makes one of the worst live calls I've seen.
lol...Don Draper and Manu...lol... <iframe class="vine-embed" src="https://vine.co/v/hBVtMwd7OLl/embed/simple" width="320" height="320" frameborder="0"></iframe><script async src="//platform.vine.co/static/scripts/embed.js" charset="utf-8"></script>
The rule is that the player is allowed a "gather step" and then two steps, and in the NBA there is wide latitude on what qualifies as a gather step. When the step and the gather of the ball happen at roughly the same time, the refs generally allow the player to take two extra steps. That's why this is, in fact, a non-obvious call. You'd rarely see it called as a travel in the NBA.
it was clean u can take 1 step as the gather step and then he took 2 steps. cmon harden does this all the time
This cannot be a travel in any Universe When we have an episode with the number of potential violations, the ref should blow the whistle on the first one and that was Ray Allen's foul. The game stops right after it and his foul was before Manu's last step that is considered as travelling violation by OP
who cares. if he hadnt turned the ball over 200 times or at least the FT in the end..we wouldn't be in this situation. stop focusing on this.
