We are not playing him because we don't want other GMs to see what he is capable of until we pull off a blockbuster trade. Then he will be unleashed.
he doesn't need to become massive, all he needs is to increase his strength. his body type looks like a hard gainer's so i doubt he'll be packing on some serious muscle mass. i don't think his agility will suffer as a result and i'm thinking he'll even become more explosive and more confident underneath and bang even more once he gains the strength and a few more muscle pounds.
I'm not disagreeing with you, but look what happened in last year's playoffs. Spurs were giving it to the Thunder, then Thunder went small ball, the Spurs couldn't adjust and got ran out of the building. Same thing with the Heat, they were struggling against everyone in the playoffs, then switched up their offense and the rest is history. In a 7 game series, your opponent gets to know you pretty well, but being able to bring in a guy and show the other team different looks is a nice luxury to have. Far to early to tell, but I hope D-Mo can be that pace-changer. Our current offense is awesome, but a little variety couldn't hurt, could it? When our three ball isn't falling, give me those hook shots!
I'd say he should be given a chance at backup C minutes. No offense to Aldrich but he isn't that good a defense nor scoring, while Motiejunas might not be able to defend post scoring big men, there really aren't that many he would have to go up against. Not to mention, throwing him out there might be just the thing to help him develop.
