So, Gilbert is saying that someone just made the story up?

Why would someone just make that up?

If this story is true, then Gilbert Arenas is not only the dumbest player in league, he is certifiably insane.

I want to hear more of the story before passing judgment on Arenas, but why not sell your guns to a pawn shop instead of bringing it to the arena if you want to get rid of it? Since when is your workplace a good place to store firearms (if you're not involved with law enforcement)?

Could it have been a joke that they were playing on their teammates? Gilbert pulling an unloaded gun in jest and Criteron doing the same by grabbing one that Gilbert brought in. Think about it, where did Criteron get the gun? It's hard to believe that both of the brought guns to the lockerroom. It was probably one of the ones that Gilbert brought in. So they both have unloaded guns drawn on each other and go ahead and talk about gambling debts as a joke that they play on their teammates.

So why would someone lie to the NY Post. My theory is that this is a security person that saw the incident, heard the gambling talk, didn't know the back story, and had a big mouth. Of course if you want conspiracy theories, it could be that the Wiz saw a way to clear Gilbert's contract (or at least save some money if he's suspended without pay) and are trying to screw him.

It's not even legal to bring a gun into the District of Columbia. This is bad.

If this is true, they should both be banned from the league for life.

I bet the front office has their fingers crossed about the possibility of voiding arenas' contract. You have to wonder if the organization was the source of the ny post gossip.

depends on what actually happened, if it turns out to be a relatively minor thing like possessing guns on league property, he'll probably face a fine and a small suspension. anything else, and yeah...fireworks.

BOTH should be thrown out of our sport! This is a crime culture that must be removed if we are to be a culture which is truly civil. :p
