The point of the draft is not drafting a player for position but drafting the best player you can get. So Wall is the best player of this draft so if you can get the best player in the draft, you draft him.

It doesn't matter if you already have an all star caliber player in Gilbert. Wall will be the franchise player and most likely they will slide Gilbert to the 2. Washington Wizard must be stupid if they draft Turner instead of Wall for the sake of Gilbert and because they play the same position.

So Washington will most likely slide Gilbert to the 2 or find a new destination for him. There is no way in hell they would pass up on Wall just because of Gilbert. Wall is a superstar in the making. His worst case scenario is a 6'4 Kyle Lowry, and that's not bad at all.

cavaliers should pick arenas up too and have him rejoin Jamison, if Im not mistaken i remember Gil taking less money to accomodate him. He and Jamison could easily turn this franchise around or better yet...not let it slip too far down. Damn that would be a sick starting lineup:

    Gilbert Arenas
    Anthony Parker
    Antawn Jamison
    J.J. Hickson
    Anderson Varejao

I hope you're joking. That's just about the worst thing the Cavs could possibly do. They'd end of finishing in 8th place every year and getting swept in the first round. All that would ensure is that they don't get a lottery pick for several years.

It's time for them to rebuild.

Im totally serious, add a few players here and there through trades and what not...For example they can outbid us for scola's services and/or Lowry's and then what??? Solid team wouldnt you say?

All im saying is they could tweak the roster as opposed to just tanking, given NJ's success at landing that top seed this year is reason enough not to gamble your season away just for the sake of being in a good position in the draft. I dont care what anyone says but i still believe AI and TMac have got some bball juice left, add those two plus Gil and their games may not be as boring to watch than otherwise. Then again this is all my personal speculation, feel free to add/dismiss to my reasoning.

If they add Arenas, they no longer have the cap room to outbid us for Scola's or Lowry's services.

Now you're talking about adding AI or TMac in addition to Arenas? Your scenario just keeps getting crazier.

This is a HUGE IF. IF Gilbert's body and mind are right he could be a help. But if he still has knee issues and still has no common sense then I would say hell no.

If I where the cavs i would wait till the trade dealine before I made any moves like that. You never know what teams will be ready to hit panic button on the season and start unloading salary. I think the pistions are starting to get buyers remorse on Ben Gordon.
