Minimum it should be is a substantial fine. Not a big fan of a suspension during the play offs, but he should definitely get a substantial fine. And if they want to suspend him regular games next season, I would be okay with that.

At times like this I wish they could suspend for parts of a game (like a penalty box). A 2 quarter suspension would actually fit for something like this.

And yes, it's just water but what if the fan didn't think it was funny and took a swing at Griffin? Or threw something back at Griffin or the other players? Situations like that can easily spiral out of control into a fight or even a riot. Anyone remember the Malice in the Palace?

Griffin is supposed to be a professional athlete. Being heckled is part of the job. And if you can't take it then you shouldn't be in the NBA.

The NBA should come down hard and fast. Players should never, ever be allowed to go after the fans no matter what is said. And that message should be sent to the players loud and clear.

    Was it funny? Yes

Did the guy deserve it? Maybe

    Does it require suspension? Absolutely

You can't lessen the punishment because it is the playoffs. He broke the golden rule.

Clearly intentional, and he needs to be suspended.

Apparently your fandom of Blake Griffen has clouded your judgement. If a player does absolutely anything offensive to a fan, he gets suspended. It's that simple. You have to protect the fan, because if Blake Griffen can do whatever the hell he wants, guess who's never going to another LA game? That's right, no one that can afford the best seats in the house, which is where the money is made. Thank god it wasn't at Toyota center, because everyone that owns the court side tickets there are richer than the players, and les Alexander would make a point to make sure that guy got what is coming to him.

Griffin might have just cost his team the series with that douchbag move.

I thought it was funny but it does cross the all-important line.

What I don't get is why people say the Warriors fan is a db. He's just being a good fan for his team -- good for him. If we had a dude or gal in Rockets gear, at Portland for game 3, we would be totally behind them.

Good for him, I say, especially if Blake gets suspended.

When coach Kidd intentionally spilled water to the floor to get a time out, he got fined.

This is worse, Griffin did it on purpose to a fan. That's a very immature move. He needs spanking.

I laughed at it, but seriously it is pretty stupid on Griffin's part. If the fan was being abusive all he had to do was point to a security guard to get the guy escorted out. But no.... he has to act like a b**** and throw water on someone who paid to see these guys play.

And yeah it is epic trolling... By the fan! He trolled dumbass Griffin so much that he got Griffin to throw water on him. He should be suspended for being a dip****. Yeah it was funny, but you can't go throwing water on other fans or players or anyone at games.

It's the act, pretty damn disrespectful and insulting if he did it on purpose.
"Just a little beer" started one of the worst brawls in NBA history.

I thought it was great but if the NBA is consistent, this will result in a suspension. We all know what can happen when drinks get thrown in arenas.

The suspension should be served when we meet them in western finals.

Because it is a crime, in a basketball arena or out.

Because it violates an ever thinning line of fan interaction that has gotten worse with Marcus Smart shoving fans, baseball players throwing chairs into the stands, and a brawl in Detroit.

Because if a fan threw water on Blake Griffin, that fan would be removed from the area and banned for life.

Because Blake Griffin is a d-bag.

Because the slippery slope needs to be stopped.

Regardless, nothing will happen to Griffin except a maybe a fine that Griffin won't care about paying because the NBA is the most hypocritical league in American sports.

A splash of water doesn't hurt anybody.

He'll get a suspension to avoid setting a precedent. I understand the reasoning behind it, but I don't like it. I want the best players to play.
