But can he do it when it means something?

    Porter certainly can NOT.

    Check this out:

    http://www.antesdelfin.com/goatcurse.html

Apparently, some cubs fans casted a curse on the Astros before yesterday's game. They brought a goat to M.M.P. and was denied entrance (I think this has something to do with the billy goat curse of the cubs). I don't really believe in this kind of stuff but I do know that the Astros really choked in these last two games.

However, we are not out of this thing yet. Ponson didnt pitch well in his last few starts and Oswalt should have a good chance against him tomorrow. As long as the astros win tomorrow, the central is still going to be a tight race down the stretch.

Now here's the hope that the AAA Reds can somehow beat the cubs tomorrow.

Well, since this isn't a thread about whether or not you or anyone else likes baseball, it certainly seemed like you were trying to start some **** since your post completely derailed the actual topic.

What was that again? Oh yeah. I think it's just about time to go kill some puppies.

For as long as I can remember, the Astros have been a Punch and Judy hitting ball club. Playing in the Astrodome for all of those years sort of ingrained into the fabric of this team that it was OK to have a tinker toy offense. Once again, their offensive shortcomings have caught up with the "Lastros " and now, with the playoffs so very near, they falter once again. Sometimes you just have to forget all of that baseball genius & strategy crap and go out and hit the damn ball and score some f'ing runs!

Yeah, I know Miller punked out and choked up 10 runs but it will be this team's puny offense that will be the deciding factor in yet another season down the drain.

SF knows this. The Cubbies know this. Maybe now, Uncle Drayton & the rest of the organization will get a fricking clue that you need some guys who can stroke the ball (not Bagwell & not Biggio) Oh and you may have to spend a little MONEY to get them. Look at it this way, they'll have the entire offseason (again) to get a f'ing clue.

When the Astros start trying too hard to score runs, the forget about everything else...defense, position, fielding, pitching...

So, it's not necessarily about scoring (hitting homers and such), but rather staying focused on the game at hand and win other ways.

They need to learn how to win 1-2 type nail bitters.

They don't. They end up getting all tense, and then start forgetting about defense and pitching, then before you know it, they are down 10 to 1. Choke!

It didn't have to be that type of game. This team is mentally weak. And no killer instinct.

By the way, Bagwell sucks on defense!

Well, it's obviously Jimy's fault the Giants dropped a dime in the 2nd. :D

I know who the Astros need as their manager!

Well, the Giants said they are resting most, if not all, of their starters tonight. With Oswalt pitching, if we don't win this game, then we can all throw another hissy fit.

We'll it's time to flip the channel to ESPN.

Oswalt going up against San Fran.

This is our season, win this and right the ship

hopefully Jeff Kent and others can lite a fire under the offense's ass.

inning for Oswalt, i expect to see quite a few of these considering no Giant starter is playing.

The question remains, will the bats wake up?

The fat lady is clearing her throat...

What a pathetic performance...I know the Giants are good, but were suppose to be too...

No sense of urgency...The "lovable Cubs" will win the division with the Marlins winning the wild card...:(

7 pitches, 3 ground balls by the astros

That's not going to get it done.
