This is why I HATE the current schedule.

They should go back to 154 games and expand to playoffs by a team or two per league (where one team would get a first round bye or it would be a similar format (with less playoff games) to the NBA).

162 games is just too damn long for injuries, travel, and wear and tear.

If we play this way down the stretch in a playoff race when it counts, then I could really care less if we go to the playoffs because we will just lose in the first series yet again.

I am so disgusted right now. I read all the post-game Astros comments and their talking as if being tied is the best thing since sliced bread  . I guess their trying to maintain a positive spin. As for pressure, that crap Wagner said a few games back about there being no pressure cause they weren't even supposed to be here....that was all hogwash. Their all pressing because of the pressure and the result is subpar baseball. Sound familiar? It should because this is what the Astros do when it counts. We will see what their made of in the next six games.

Reminds me of that Friends episde where Chandler goes on that job interview and says the word "poo"....The guy is like..."poo?? POO??"

Why does everyone think Lidge is so dominant? He has a 5.83 ERA in the 2nd half of the season, the worst out of all our relievers. Yes, he was awesome in the 1st half, but he is not even close to being dominant in the 2nd half. Dotel and Wagner are still usually lights out, but Lidge has dropped from that status.

    Different games RM95.

Robertson had clearly lost it.....he was not in control of the game like Villone was last night.

Both prove my point...Jimy made the wrong move both times.

Nice try though RM......keep up the effort.

Robertson also wasn't pitching with a one run lead... at home.... past the 7th inning (it was only the 5th when St. Louis scored their runs). Granted, it was a 2-run lead... still too early to go into the bullpen.

He also was pitching the day after we depleted our bullpen in the 13 inning game... even more incentive to keep him in.

We've gone to Lidge-Dotel-Wagner all year, and its produced lights-out results... who wouldn't be comfortable sticking with that combo.

While Villone was in control of the game, that control could easilly escape him with just one measly pitch... he just doesn't have that great stuff, and probably was lucky to be pitching so far into the game anyways (ie - if we didn't have Adam Everett on this team, we would have been getting blown out at the time).

Also, how did everyone in here collectively forget the two BOMBS Villone gave up early, and the multitude of loud outs and mammoth foul balls that were coming off the Giants bats all night... once again, Villone was quite lucky to be pitching that late anyways.

Flashback to 2000.... a pop fly HR into the Crawford boxes...

Is there a rule we can invoke that if it lands in the first few rows of the boxes on the fly, its a ground rule double??

    Bring in Lidge. LOL

P.S. The Giants own the Astros. We're not going to win one game in this series and miss the playoffs. ****

My oh my the Giants are good.

When you get Jose Cruz Jr. as your eight hitter, you know you're good.

Is that supposed to translate over to Rockets chat or something? I tend to disappear in those things after a little bit...especially now that their overcrowded. But, I still watch the game.

Strangely enough...I did stop watching in the 8th inning yesterday because I just knew we would lose that game. I would have been pleasantly surprised if we would have won but it never works out when I want it to. lol
