yeah Nick, imagine if that piece of garbage Lugo was out there....Lugo would not have been able to make that force play
Alright, time to strike back again!!! Men on the corners. 1 out. Let's go 'stros!!!! Kent up to bat,.....OUCH!!! Kent gets hit in the back!!! Bases juiced, Berkman up to bat! THIS UMPIRE SUCKS!!!! That pitch was 2 inches above the ground...and its a strike?! what the hell?! AHHHHH....Berkman just missed the grand slam!!!! EDIT: Strike right down the middle, no swing. berkman strikes out. Hidalgo up to bat....pop up. inning over. No runs scored. 3 men left on base.
Berkman, please oh please don't ground into a double play. EDIT: uh..oh, these are typical Astros rally killing type stuff, where they cant get the big hit to give themselves breathing room.
I don't know what Berkman was looking for but I don't see how you don't swing at a fastball down the middle.
In that situation he was looking for something away. Williams was throwing his stuff all over the place. I think he thought it was going to be another pitch down and out which so far has been called as a strike by the ump. If the ump calls that outside pitch a strike, why not throw it? So...in easy words, berkman was completely baffled by that pitch, he was so ready to stretch to hit that low slider. DAMNIT!!! Villone called out while going to third base!!!
Dang, Villone's arms are bleeding...what a harsh slide. Edit: ***not badly bleeding, just really red and scratched up...he is pitching. EDIT EDIT: Villone is replaced, he got the first guy out, but Jimmy wants another pitcher in to face the next batters.
Umm...which part didn't you understand? Everett was thrown out trying to get an extra base yesterday when he should have just settled for second. Villone just did the same thing and his slide is pretty bad which is understandable since he's a pitcher. The bottom line is a pitcher shouldn't be trying to stretch something like that in that situation. It's too damn risky. Villone just went out. He did a good job tonight. My hat's off to him.
