I think every team would rather have Bonds in the middle of the lineup if they had to choose one guy add for the playoffs.
Dude, do you not understand how twice as many walks, no doubt many of them intentional, makes Bonds a worthy MVP candidate (and probably the MVP)? OK, here are some other stats, including AVG.: Bonds-AVG. .335, SLG. .743, OPS (best indicator) 1.270, and OBP. .527 Pujols-AVG. .365., SLG. .681, OPS (best indicator) 1.126, and OBP. .445 Who ranks higher?
Anybody who doesn't think Bonds is the MVP deserves to get their heads clocked, cause they obviously aint using them. This is the situation for Bonds: Imagine seeing only ONE hittable pitch in every 5-6 AB's.... and taking that one pitch and hitting a HR. That is very hard to do, and that is what Bonds has done (excluding this series, where we were lights out against him). If Bonds played in Pujols lineup (where you have to pitch to Albert), he'd probably drive in 200 RBI (which is why RBI is not a good evaluator of MVP candidacy... otherwise Preston Wilson would be getting votes). Even Pujols knows it... Bonds is the MVP.
I don't care if he isn't getting anything to hit....I think Bonds is the most feared hitter in the game. But in my mind Pujols has had the better year. DD
I'm happy that Valentine said what he said...maybe a few Astros heard it and it will fire them up! I mean, come on! If the Astros think this is pressure? They haven't seen anything yet!!! I'm tired of all this lying down and pussyfooting around! It's now, or next year...
Oswalt pitched his game last night...Freakin' perfect...We need the others to pitch that way for the Brewer's series... I still don't think we're going to make it...
