Please let Roy finish the game....DO NOT take him out, or if you do....only for the 9th. God, please let old Dogs learn new tricks.....PLEASE GOD !!! DD
he lined it up the middle, 2 runners scored, they cut the throw off and hidalgo was nailed at 3rd. Roy just goes 1-2-3 in the top of the 8th.
At this point, I'd feel safer with Roy going for the complete game than risking Wagner giving away a bomb. Roy's pitching great....keep him in please.
Wags is great, but with his love for the fastball, all a player has to do to hit it out is get a little wood and lift on it. Especially a left hander.....Wags supplies all the power. I wish his slider was more consistent. DD
Man...tough call for the manager here. Do you bring in Wags to try to redeem himself, or leave in Roy? I say bring in Wags. If we're going anywhere in the playoffs, we'll need him to have his head on straight before the series starts. Closing out this game would be a big boost for him mentally.
Isn't a complete game for the pitcher ideal though? Roy is rolling along, has a low pitch count...thrown one bad pitch all game long..I dont see the point in taking him out, even if it is for Wags.
We have a runner on and we're only ahead by one run. We need to score more runs. If your closer, one of the top 3 in the league, cannot close it out, then you don't deserve to be winning. You cannot blame Jimy (freakin' learn how to spell it please) for trying to score more runs and putting the ball in Wags' hands.
I agree with this...if Everett had not gotten on base, I would want Roy to finish....but, we do need some insurance runs. Always good to pinch hit a .237 hitter for a .273 hitter with power. DD
Didn't work out from an offensive standpoint. I'd understand either decision though. Let's have some positive karma here on this BBS for Wags' appearance!! Let's do it, Billy the Kid!!!!!!!!
We don't need to score more runs with the way Roy's been pitching. Its ok to let your starter finish a game for once in your life Jimmy.
