Exactly. Finally it seems like the pieces are falling into place and the young guys are gelling. For what we would most likely have to give up, it isn't worth it to me. Maybe if it was Giannis 4-5 years ago that's a no brainer. Guess we'll see.
uh... none of those trade packages you proposed sounds appealing at all. and ain't no way i'm trading any one of alpi, amen, tari, or reed. never liked giannis to begin with and i know most of us hated him when harden was competing against that ******* for mvp. why are we suddenly clamoring for him now? just stay the course... why mortgage our future and shorten our window? if it's for someone like luka doncic, sure go ahead and throw in everything. but for a soon to be past his prime giannis? hard pass
The Media is toying with the concept because all 3 of Udoka, Olajuwon and Antetokounmpo are Nigerians. But it doesn't have to happen.
Cam, Jabari , Brooks, Tate and 3 first rounds 3 seconds and swaps for Gainsis and Portis.. low risk and very high reward Ppl who saying it's scary to get Gainsis for his age . If don't trade some assets..we gonna lose them for free and low trade value..can't keep everyone just remember that Sengun and Greek will work cause both very good passers and sengun defensive elite improvement Going with fvv green tari Giansis sengun.with the bench of Adams amen reed Tate portis .it's a contender team.. We gonna eventually lose can and jabari anyways
I would do this, but I seriously doubt the Bucks would. Again, if we’re talking a trade at the deadline, I can imagine a world where the Bucks don’t demand that we include Amen.
For Giannis, no matter what, Bucks will definitely want Sengun and probably one or both of Amen or Tari. Would you give up 2 or 3 valuable pieces of your future, along with a few first-round picks, for a 29-year-old player whose athleticism is his strongest point (and who will probably decline significantly in the next 2-3 years)? If the Rockets are going to turn to a superstar this season, it should be Booker.
At this point, I'm not convinced that Sengun and/or Amen don't become All NBA players, and I really don't want to become the Clippers, trading Shai and a bunch of stuff for a superstar rental.
If the Rockets were smart they wouldn't have worried so much about trading for one - and they would have drafted and developed one. Giannis is about to be 30 years old - with a lot of milage on his body. Harden and Giannis have had a similar load over the years - at the same age as Giannis, Harden was 3rd in MVP voting and averaged 34 points a game.... still at the top of his game, but the slow down came shortly after 30, and Giannis isn't as skilled as Harden or Curry or others. Personally, I don't see Giannis on the Rockets winning a title once the cost of players going to Milwaukee is considered - not to mention that other teams can give him a better chance to win if he joins them.
At this point, I don't know if I want a major trade. I especially don't want a trade that will gut our draft capital and cost us one of our top 3 young prospects. I'd far prefer the following this offseason: Opt-out and extend FVV for 2 - 3 years at a lower cap figure. Maybe something like 3 years/100 mil with a team option Extend Bari and Tari to nice, non-max extensions Expect that Amen will get a max or near-max extension Playing with the capulator, we should be able to do all of the above without running into issues with the tax, much less the apron. Use our draft capital to fill holes, such as backup center, shooting, etc.
If you can do it for the bottom 3 of the core 7 (Jabari, Reed and Cam) and picks or less, I'd consider it. I'd prefer Jalen be the principal piece, but he couldn't be included until next summer. Just imagine plugging in Giannis for Jabari. Good god I do think there's a ton of potential in those 3 guys, and we could eventually regret the move. It's likely the Bucks push for Amen and/or Tari, but I don't think we can let those guys go right now. They're just too damn effective. If it were to happen next summer, they target Sengun. That's a REALLY tough choice.
I don't think it's a tough choice at all. I'm not trading Sengun and a ton of picks for Giannis, period. Frankly, I doubt I do it for Amen and a ton a picks. Like you said, if the price were something like Brooks, Bari, Cam, filler, and a truck load of picks for Giannis, that is tempting because we'd retain most of our young core, and Giannis would keep us competitive until they reach their primes. But I seriously doubt the Bucks bite. The other issue is the spacing between Amen, Sengun, and Giannis, or rather lack thereof.
Jabari/Cam/filler+the picks should suffice. No one outside the Thunder can beat that. No way I include Sengun/Amen/Tari for Giannis.
Absolutely. If the Thunder offer up Chet or JDub, I doubt anyone beats them. If they refuse, then things get interesting.
I disagree - I think they would definitely deal one of them plus a number of other assets. They would be the favorite to win the title this year if they added Giannis.
Possibly. I don’t see it though. Two of the brightest young stars in the game for a guy about to exit his prime. That’s tough
