In general guard defense only matters really at the extremes. The couple elite ones make a difference (caruso) and the really horrific ones (trae) can tank your defense. Replacing jalen with booker would do nothing to the defense

Interestingly enough Houston scores more than PHX and plays better defense. I think I could find a cheaper option to shoot 3's and a more worthwhile star to replace Jalen with. Hell if its for commensurate contract I'd have rather gone after KAT. Booker is a walking albatross.

Kat would be a hell no for me, booker is just better and a better fit. A center who’s horrific on defense really kills you

A center who can hit 50% from 3 kills you too.

Sure, but those don't exist. Nobody has ever hit 50% on high volume in history i don't believe?

The Rockets need reliable outside shooters who can also defend. Giannis is a redundancy and would be too expensive. Give Reed a few more games where he is encouraged to just shoot and see if he gets over his hesitancy.

KAT is at 51% on 7.7 attempts per game so far this season.

Now obviously I dont expect that to be his full season number that would be insane, but he is a 40% lifetime shooter from 3 and he is 7 feet tall which becomes more of an obstacle for an offense than a 6-6 guy who is not interested to give effort on defense half the time. Throw in the exact same contract for both guys and I'll take my chances with the Unicorn Lite player who fits great next to Sengun as a "finesse" big with great range vs another player who wants to operate in the paint/elbow area.

Makes no difference now as KAT is unobtainable and Booker MIGHT be available. If we must deal with PHX I'd rather just take Durant for a couple years and hope that it leads to a ring instead of looking at any sort of long term commitment. Booker is set to cash like 160Ms over the next 3 years.

How about Dillon Brooks contract. That is movable, ever thought about Dillon.

I started thinking about it, and it's almost like. . . . . like you're getting nothing from that player. . . . . Is that kinda what you were saying?

If we're doing this with a core this young, we'll compete for a decade. Hard pass on all these trade offers.

We win by developing our team long-term. Thier stars age and fade long term

Man i just really dislike bigs who are COMPLETE zeros on defense so i will never be a towns guy. Definitely a personal bias though. I’m not exactly thrilled about booker because of his deal but i think he would be a great fit. Towns is a hell no with sengun on defense

Yeah I think it's just too soon to give him up. Might regret it later.

You haven’t been reading just about every thread if you think I haven’t thought about trading brooks. My point is Booker will be in the starting backcourt so at least one of FVV or Green will have to go. In no world is Booker a starting small forward.

No they wouldnt I completely disagree with this post lol I dont want Giannis for obvious reasons and if Stone is as half as smart as I think he is he wouldnt want Giannis at thsi stage either. Bro dismantled and destroyed his entire team. We've been through that with Harden already not planning on doing that again and giving up young players in the process. Finally if Giannis wants out then the package will be on the receiving team because they will have the leverage.

Devin Booker is soft mentally, Devin always disappears and collapses in big moments in the Playoffs,Finals, against Luka being a complete Meme.
