And the Bucks would be guaranteed the #1 pick in the following draft too…. That’s seems to be the way the NBA rolls when it involves team helping out the league’s sweethearts, those Media darling, the Lakers.

He can definitely shoot the ball better than you give him credit for. He wouldn't be a former MVP, NBA champion if he could only shoot from 3 feet in. He certainly wouldn't be avg 30/11/7 if he was as bad a shooter that you're making him out to be. Have you ever even played pickup basketball?

The numbers prove otherwise even from 5-9 feet from the rim he's under 33%

    From 3 he's under 27%

I see a lot of what you feel like should be the case.... but it's not. Reality simply disagrees with what you feel like should be the case.

Have you ever watched a game Giannis played in? He's actually quite efficient from 15-20 ft. That will provide enough spacing for an offense to be successful. Gotta have a couple of shooters around Giannis and Amen. It's like you dont think a 21 yr old Amen can improve his game and all Giannis does is hang around the basket and collect garbage points. Dont look at the stats, watch the games.

Your eye test is dogshit since it completely disagrees with reality.

Could Amen improve? Of course, but if you go with Giannis you have 3 or 4 seasons tops to do all the winning you are going to do.

You can't be waiting for eventually.

That's why it would be a stupid move.

You should be an expert when it comes to dogshit.

Moving on, you need to actually watch the games.

So a MVP can only make 3 ft shots? OK

Yeah... and Giannis isn't the first MVP like that either.

It's just the facts, the only area he can competently score from is within 3 feet of the rim.

Wasn't Shaq a MVP? I would say his range was less than 3'. Giannis is the closet thing to Shaq the league has seen. Most of his buckets come from the FT line or very close to the basket for a reason and the numbers back it up.

Shaq was 2 of 2. Wilt was the only other guy that could dominate like that. Like I said, Giannis has range out to 15-20 ft. He's not some guy that gets his points hanging around the rim.

If they genuinely don’t care about their luxury tax issues they could be a player. They absolutely would need a third team to get involved since Giannis makes 1m more than Brown and the Celtics can’t aggregate players as a 2nd Apron team and they don’t have any worthwhile draft picks. I’m sure the Bucks would love to trade Giannis for Brown and a couple of good draft picks. If the Rockets really love Derrick White they could do a trade with the Celtics giving up Dillon, Cam, and Landale and a couple of good picks for him and then Boston could turn around and trade Brown, the 2 good picks from the Rockets plus a couple of Boston’s own picks in later years when they might be worth something. So to play it out for all teams:

Rockets trade Nets 27 swap and Dallas 29 swap, Dillon, Cam, Landale for Derrick White.
Boston trades Brown, Nets 27 swap, Dallas 29 swap and maybe a future Boston pick for Giannis.
Rockets then turnaround and trade FVV, Phoenix 27 pick for Durant.

Boston replaces Brown with Giannis and becomes a favorite to win when Tatum comes back.
Milwaukee can do a soft re-build by staying competitive with Brown some draft capital to improve around the edges until the other big contracts come off the books.
Rockets have a lineup something like this:
    Amen, Reed
    White, Jalen
    Durant, Tari
    Jabari, Tari
Sengun, re-signed Adams or other journeyman backup or Rookie.

We would still have the Jalen, #10 pick and tax payer MLE to further balance the lineup or provide depth or Reed insurance.

Appreciate the effort... but does Brown for Giannis even work? Celtics being over 2nd apron surely makes it difficult

Yah im not trading all that for Derrick White. Hes a good player. Hes not 2 solid 1s, Cam, and Books worthy. Maybe 1 of those picks and Brooks but not all of that. Otherwise just stand pat

I guess you didn’t read all the way through. There has to be a third team, because Brown makes 1m less than Giannis and can’t consolidate contracts. I generously supplied the Rockets as the third team.

Dillon doesn’t work for cap matching, but I thought that 2 picks might be too much. If they would take 1 pick, I’d do it in a second if you already had the Durant trade set up. The lineup of:
    Amen/Reed
    White/Jalen
    Durant/Tari
    Jabari/Tari
    Sengun/Adams

Is the second best team in the West. If you stand pat, we won’t sniff the 2nd seed next year, it was an anomaly.
