Man Phoenix media and PR is trying their hardest to offload KD aren't they? lol

Neither, not looking to gut the team for Giannis or get a $55 million dollar 37 year old who has missed full seasons with an injury history (which is why you see so many KD posts to get rid of him).

Honestly, i'd like to package the picks for Dylan Harper especially if San Antonio passes and it's with Morey and the 76ers. He's the kind of talent that you build around and would fit like a glove with Amen and Sengun.

He would then get on the internet and call him a coward.

I'm totally down with Harper. In most other drafts, he'd be the #1 pick.

I don't think it makes sense either but just pay attention to the coverage.

Givony was saying it was 99.9% he was going to be the pick at #2 for San Antonio, now he often mentions San Antonio trading down and someone else drafting him. The worst scenario is its Milwaukee because if they trade Giannis to the Spurs, none of this other stuff matters in my opinion.

the drop off between Harper and the next guy is monstrous. Whoever gets pick #2 is taking Harper.

I agree with this stance but just remember in 2023 the drop off from Scoot was supposed to be huge. I disagreed at the time and thought Amen was the second best prospect but consensus isn't always absolute. Spurs would be better off trading to #3 if they don't want Harper and the Rockets could get into that deal too using pick #10, 2027 Phoenix and maybe Jabari for Oubre (if they value Harper as much as I do) with pick #3 going to the Spurs.

I agree that Harper may not be that great. I haven’t even seen him play. But when it comes to the draft, perception is everything. I had Amen no. 2 as well and actually think he has a better career than Wemby.

The answer to this kind of question is always: Depends on the packages.

But just for the conceptual thought process, Durant for a small package makes more sense, assuming we keep most of our young core intact. With his age, Durant is obviously not a long term solution. And he's not going to push us over the hump to be a contender, not in a short window he will provide. But he's a plug and play kind of guy. You don't have to change the structure of the team to accommodate him. He will instantly solve our most glaring offensive problems--shot creation and shooting.

Giannis's productive years will presumably longer than Durant. And his impact will be bigger in terms of contending for a championship. However, you have to (1) gut your core to get him, and (2) change the whole structure to fit him. In other words, he is not going to fit the team. The team is going to have to fit him. How long will it take for Stone for find all the right pieces to build around him? Will it be fast enough before Giannis starts to decline physically? It's a huge gamble. If he doesn't give us a championship, we are going back to rebuild again.

Also, like some posters are talking about, KD on Clutchfans would be great entertainment. I wonder how many alt accounts he would create. :D

Pretty much everything in life is a risk/reward decision. We, as fans, can only guess at the conversations going on and state what we would pay or not pay.

KD is extremely short term thinking. Giannis is a top 3 player in the nba right now

I feel Giannis will stay in Bucks.
We will get nothing if we keep waiting him.

Every team want to get Giannis.
I see no reason he will choose Rockets.

In addition, he probably stay in Bucks.

Do the math. Who can give up young players and picks and retain enough good young players? Houston is also a big market and has the 2nd largest Nigerian population in the world behind Nigeria itself. It adds up and the Rockets won't have to deplete their team to get him. He knows Lillard is done for next yr, Lopez is a free agent, no draft picks, no cap room.

July 1 is the reflection point. That's when Sengun and or Green can be traded. The only team that can match a Rockets package of players and picks are SA,but they have a rookie coach. He's not staying in the East either

Why are you holding on to assets when Giannis is the biggest fish possible in the last 4 yrs available?

If we're trading for Giannis then Adios Sengun or Amen and I'm not trading either of those 2 for Giannis. I'm especially not Touching any offers for Amen. Getting Giannis does not solve our major issue, which is shooting.
I'm also not gutting this team for KD. I'd just try to find a way to clear cap space in the case they do decide to buy him out. I'm not swallowing 55 mil for a guy who can barely keep his legs on the court. It's a waiting game. More leadership and better shooters is what we need. Is Eric Gordon available?
