    hydra,

besides winning the reason the dodgers arent bashed is that they arent called americas team, claimed as a dynasty and get their jock sucked by sportscenter every night, which the yankees do. I dont like LA, Baltimore, Boston either but they dont have the above characteristics and thus they dont receive the brunt of my criticism. The thing that stands out is the drew henson situation, they traded him to cincinatti-stealing good reds farmhands, then he decides oh the reds blow ill go back to college and play football, but instead of cincy retaining his rights the yankees step in and get him back simply by offering 6 yrs 18 mil, thats a problem and you know it. I just am bothered when i hear yankees are god, have the best heart ever etc, greatest dynasty, because i guarantee if you give each team equal payroll the yankees dont even come close to winning every yr, plus that crap of a mystique at yankee stadium doesnt exist, one of the many annoyances of jock sucking by the media towards them.

    Question for Rocketspimp, etc:

Are you opposed to changing the salary dynamics of baseball, or do you just think its unfair that people bash the Yankees for playing by the current rules?

The latter, I'd agree with. But, realistically, any league isn't fair when it's nearly impossible for 2/3 of the league to retain homegrown talent.

Some sports analyst used the phrase: money can't buy championships, but it's sure hard to win one without it. That pretty much sums up my feelings as well. Sure the Yankees have shown better judgement than the Orioles, Dodgers, Red Sox, etc... but if every team in the league had a 100 million dollar budget, things would be quiet different.

I'm not opposed to the league changing the salary dynamics if it helps the game as a whole. I also believe there should be an incentive given to players to remain with the clubs that found them or clubs they have a significant amount of tenure with.
