BF2 on PC is far from a great game??? its one of the best shooters to be released on PC for a long time. what performance issues? granted it was buggy and glitchy at first, but guess what, those massive patches actually fixed it, the only performance issues i have seen is that you need a more than decent computer to run it at even medium settings. it offers one of the most interactive combat enviroments, in what other multiplayer shooters can you fly jets, choppers, drive tanks, jeeps, humvees, boats, ect. and destroy them in even more ways? not a whole lot, the only other ones i have enjoyed are farcry and the battlefront series. oh sure it has a pretty story, but are you only going to play it in single player mode?? from the trailer and demo it doesnt seem to offer a whole lot more than battlefield 2, you get squad based stratagy, but thats nothing new, we had that in republic commando, as well as battlefield 2. single player wise, it looks like its a lot better than battlefield 2, but multiplayer? i dont see it happening.
Ok, I didn't want to start a whole new thread just to ask this...but has anyone tried the new NCAA Basketball game for the 360? I'm waiting for a review on Gamespot, but nothing as of yet. thanks!
IGN has a review for it: http://xbox360.ign.com/articles/694/694365p1.html 7.4 there, ~73% at Gamerankings. I was probably going to post that this weekend in the March thread.
Well I went home last night and spent about 4 hours on the multiplayer mode with friends and about 30 min on single player and here are my impressions of both. First the single player is amazing. I only played it for about 30 min but it was very fun and visually impressive. The training mission is extremely helpful and played through it twice to get a better feel of the controls. To me the controls are great although it does take a while to get used to what all the buttons do. The graphics are simply amazing and the game is very immersive and sucks you in making you feel like you are part of the game. Multiplayer was very fun. I did not play over live yet because I want to play the maps for a few days before I get my ass handed to me. So me and a friend played a game where they put 40 AI enemies in the map and you have 30 minutes to find them all and kill them. You have 4 lives each and this game was a good way to learn the maps better. We had a great time playing that then we tried campaign which was hard as hell. That is a very good thing though because I usually find games too easy. We spent about 45 minutes on campaign and never even got close to the end of the first level. It was a great time had by all and this game is a great game. I would recommend this game to anyone that owns a 360.
I didn't figure that it would be that great. That's too bad...someone really needs to step it up on the college games. There's really not much of a reason for college games to play second fiddle to pro games anymore IMHO.
I agree with everything you said about the game, especially the multiplayer... it lived up to all the hype and more. The amazing thing is during first impressions in late 2004 the game was in horrible shape and Ubisoft took the time to get it right... I can't WAIT for Splinter Cell.
I played the game a few times. I actually liked it more than the pro game. Here are my impressions I posted on another board: This is from playing about 6 games at EB: * Game speed is alot faster, actually alot more like real basketball. No more slow fast breaks. * You can makes subs at any stoppage of play without having to hit start. By holding down both triggers, an on-screen sub menu pops up. Helps the game alot. * Commentary is alot better, no Kenny Smith talking about a failed alley oop when you just missed a jumpshot. * Presentation is alot better. The crowd noise and chants build atmosphere, the stadiums and floor itself look alot sharper, though I did notice that some of the lesser known schools are not as accurate as one would hope. * Defensive AI is alot better. Seems the PC knows when to switch to zone, who is hot. Also the CPU will double team or shadow over to a hot player, even if he doesn't have the ball. * Offensively, the PC plays alot smarter than NBA2k6. If there is a size mismatch in the middle, the center will get the ball and continue to punish you until you make a change. I am going to pick it up next week.
on gamerankings college hoops 2k6 is averaging close to 70% which might make you think it is not a good game. But that is not the case the reason everyone is giving it low scores(and also the reason I am not picking it up until later) is that it is the EXACT same game as the xbox version with mild graphical upgrades. I believe the game sold on xbox for $30 or $40. So are mild graphical improvements worth $20-30? That is the question you must answer before picking up the game. This is the same reason NBA 2k6 got a lot of low scores as well. This game is very much worth picking up but not at $60 in March.

To be clear...EA is the publisher....Dice is the developer. EA owns 25% of Dice..... Dice controls the game and the content, and when it ships.... Dice is a very good development studio. DD
Im confused. Me and my bro rented the game and have yet to find out how to play co-op campaign. we went to multi-player mode and could only play against each other...went through the option and couldnt find anything. if anyone could help it would be much appreciated.........heard about the good things about co-op and really lookin forward to playing. thanks
