Did they give you anything besides a NASID like aspirin for pain? I was wondering, as hydrocodone formulations like Vicodin used to be the big gun for dentists to pull out when they had a patient in pain, but the FDA either did or will in the near future bump it from Schedule III to Schedule II, which is the most restrictive classification for drugs that actually have medical benefit. (Schedule I is reserved for drugs deemed to have no medical benefit at all). For context, cocaine, methamphetamine, and morphine are also Schedule II drugs. I was wondering if that affected their willingness or ability to prescribe it. The other stuff obviously sucks, some of it probably more so than the numbness, but have you spoken to the dentist about this? I'm not a doctor/dentist, but this would cause me to worry about nerve damage, and whether you are going to have effects that are more than just temporary. Also, it is not unknown for people's jaw to break from the amount of force that has to be applied. Maybe rezdawg or another professional can chime in with generalized advice about whether this is normal, but for me, numbness and paralysis a week later would scare the crap out of me.
