Actually, it may be possible assuming the next CBA doesn't change too much. The Nuggets had a good bit of extra cap room over the past couple seasons because they back-end loaded both Andre Miller and KMart's contracts.

NIKE and aelliott know this trick much better than I, but back-loading Yao's extension could be a possibility to free up some short-term spending $.

EDIT: "Short-term spending $" does not mean "cap space". It just means that it may be possible to shift $5-6m out several years making the MLE more tolerable (for Les) in the near-term.

I'm not so hot on Fisher and his age/contract, but let's have more of that Mike Miller talk.
This would be the swingman we need.

why in the world would be try to have fisher at 6 or 7 mil and daniels at the same price or maybe higher...makes no sense...however i would absolutely love to have mike miller on our team he would be an absolute thorn in other teams side and he is a mcgrady close friend. if we can somehow pull off a trade for miller with wesley and draft pick and then pull off deal for SAR either through free agency with the MLE or through a sign and trade with cap relief players and cash or something of that nature then i would do it in a heart beat. a lineup of :
    yao/deke
    SAR/.....
    tmac/ rasual butler
    miller/sura/barry
    sura/james

Perhaps, but would his inconsistant shot be any different than Wesley's? And then add in the fact Pietrus is taller, quicker and younger. I mean we might not be able to get the perfect fit at SG, but Pietrus would solve just about all of our problems. He has time to improve his shot. All he has to do is just be like Bruce Bowen. Work on that 3pt shot.

BINGO! I am with you there. Daniels, Pietrus and Tmac? Perimeter speed problem solved!

NIKE, I am glad you brought up that scenario. And I think that is something a lot of people just dont understand. People assume that Les will take on all of this salary via moving the expiring contracts and THEN use the MLE every year to add to the team. We arent Cuban or Paul Allen. This team will only use the MLE if we can afford it. I expect half of the expiring contracts to just expire and then turn that money into Yao's extension. Perhaps the other half will be funneled into a player.
