    Hmmm.

Right now, I'm drinking a GNC Mega with lowfat milk 30 minutes before my workout and then drinking a shake with a banana, instant breakfast, and peanut butter mixture for post workout. My lifts have increased a lot since I started, but the "look in the mirror' results aren't coming as fast as I would like.

Do you have any alternative pre and/or post workout drinks you could suggest? I'm trying to build muscle mass and lose fat.

So what I've been doing is calculating a ratio of protein per fat, and then based on that number picking between carbs and sugars and stuff.

About the Nature's Best Perfect 1100, has anyone heard about it, whether it works or not, is it popular?

The Isopure sounds great, but I wonder if I can get it here. If I can't, can you guys recommend a place on the net where I can get it? Something that you're sure is reliable.

I want to know what's the catch though.... How come this thing has no fat, tons of protein, and no carbs.... Is it ultra expensive or something? I feel like there has to be a catch.

Is this the one you guys are talking about?

    Isopure Low Carb

Couldn't find a no-carb, but this seems perfect, it's like 3 grams of carbs, 0 fat, and 5og of protein. I'm going to probably go out and look for this.

I'm taking an MLO protein shake as a replacement for the two granola bars I used to eat for breakfast. I have been making solid gains in the weight room in the past month.

Well seeing as how it has helped me tremendously for the past 2 years... I'm gonna have to disagree with your "assessment"

Given that 1 g of protein has 10 calories, i use a powder that gets rid of all the extra fat and junk and is pure protein. You can take as many TBspoons as you like, but 4 is all I need to supplement my regular diet.

What else is in your diet? I 'm just asking because 14g's of Protien isn't even 30% of your daily requirement based on government standards. Not to mention that from what I have read you need to take in a gram a of protien for ever pound you weigh when you are weight training. I am not this is the end all standard, it's just what I have read. Right now I am getting in about 150g to 200g's per day.

    Isopure and Myoplex are solid.

Or, you can go to Smoothie King and grab one of the smoothies as meal replacement (600 Calories) and adding extra protein could give you approximately 30 grams of additional protein.

Maybe you need to start getting on his "suppliments". Just ignore that "Not for human consumption" label.

The best protien shake for the money is Optimum Nutrition 100% Whey. You will get about 3 times the amount of protien for the money compared to the other products listed here. And the O.N. whey is suppost to be one of the best tasting shakes on the market right behind another product called muscle milk. Which is a bit more expensive then O.N. whey.

by the way sane N Large is rated as the best weight gainer on the market. but if you looking to not put any excess fat on i wouldnt reccomend N Large because of the fat and sugars in the product.

if your looking at just putting on muscle and are not looking for any extra calories. i would go with O. N. 100% whey like i said before.

and if your not concerned with price there is another option you can take with something called O. N. Pro Complex, (or another brand with the same type of protien, not sure which is best for the money with this type) this type of shake has several or at least 3 or 4 types of protien in it. which means diffrent absorbtion rates into the body.

for the straight whey type protien shakes those protiens are the fastest to absorb into the body. but the complex protien shakes will still be absorbing well after you drink them, up to 8 hours later or so.

these types are more expensive. and i have been told really best to take before you go to bed, so it will keep working while you sleep. because you really want all whey shakes directly after you work out so it gets to your muscles as fast as possible.

    hope this helps out some.

That is the one I buy... just check the ingredients. It should say: Peanuts, Salt

You could probably find a bigger selection at Whole Foods, but I've never purchased it there.

Ok, so I'm looking at these as my final decision now:

    Nature's Best Isopure low carb
    Optimum 100% Whey Protein
    Extreme Labs Pro Lean Mass
    Extreme Labs Nitro-Gen Extreme
Nature's Best Perfect 1100 (includes creatine)

Any comments on these 5 would be great.
