You've been together 10 years and are now getting married??!! Something tells me that you aren't going to listen to anything I have to say about marriage considering my wife and me only dated 2 months before we got hitched! :)

But by the end of November, it will be 2 and a half years for our marriage and our son is joining our daughter by early February maybe even by the end of this year!

Good luck - marriage has been the single hardest thing I have ever done but it has been worth it and then some.

I was just joking about my earlier post.

It's really awesome that you're getting married. Is she on board yet as far as traveling and seeing the world instead of settling down with a job right away?

I was thinking about stealing your idea... ;)

I didn't realize you were going to be a father again! Congratulations to you as well as to the original poster.

I'm getting married pretty soon too... of course, I've tried it and it didn't work before. In my first marriage, I kept trying to make things better and it just got even more difficult, without all those rewarding things everybody speaks of. Hopefully choosing a more appropriate husband will help this time... it's a little scary but life goes on...

    Congratulations Jacob!

I probably know you better than anyone here and I am truly happy for you.

After all the things that have happened the past 10 years. I am genuinely glad to know you. I live in Pasadena right now because of the hurricane so maybe you'll have to say hi some time. Or not.

    Marriage changes everything.

Not that I would know about that.

    Congrats!

Make sure you have a great party to celebrate, that's more fun than a "wedding ceremony" anyway!

Congrats dude. Being married isn't any different after you've been together that long.

I disagree. My wife and I were together 6 years before getting married. Daily life wasn't much different but our perspectives on the relationship changed enormously.

Being Catholic, my marriage would not have been recognized by the Church had we not had a church wedding, presided over by a priest, and gone through through the marriage preparation process. But to be recognized by the state, you just need the piece of paper.
