He has had like 4 concussions in his career and his nickname is crash for a reason. Just the way he plays makes you nervous because he recklessly sacrifices his body to get the ball or drive to rim. Check out this article: http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=3265951
You should know he averaged 41 (2nd highest in the league) mpg this year and had a many games with 15+ rebounds. I don't know where he placed in dpoy voting but he should have been 2nd at least, since he plays more minutes and doesn't have to worry about foul trouble as much as DH.
He would fit in great with our team for sure but is he worth giving up a player from our core???.... probably not IMO. He is probably one of two players that they would want to keep in their core for several years so we would have to give up too much to get him, and hes not the guy I would want tieing up our salary for years to come. Great role player though on a contending team??? Yes he could be.
You don't trade Aaron Brooks for Gerald Wallace. That would be stupid. Brooks is at least as good of a player as Wallace, younger, and on a better contract, and he fills a need position for us.
If it was a straight Ariza-Wallace swap, I would be all for it. Charlotte would want Brooks or someone like Budinger in return, then Morey would hang up the phone as soon as MJ or Rod Higgens even say Brooks. Wallace is a warrior though and seems like a player that doesn't mind playing through injuries unlike someone who used to be on this team. Although, he would solve our rebounding problems. But I can see us grabbing a big in the offseason to solve that problem.
Last I checked, all-star voters are idiots, and the East is extremely weak. For my money Brooks easily makes the All-Star team if he plays in the East.
In that case, Brooks is on an expiring contract and his value is exceptional. Trading All-Star potential A. Brooks and mentor Battier expiring contracts for Gerald Wallace would make us Championship calibre with a line up that looks like this: Lowry Martin/Budinger/Taylor Wallace/Ariza Scola/Jordan Yao/Hayes We still have our 14th overall pick and FA. The trade would also include a young asset and In my opinion of having a young defensive stud who plays with heart and soul would be a dream come true..
Last year before his injury, Nelson was a stud. Look at his shooting percentages, especially the 3pt%. Williams took 3.3 a game and shot 31%. Nelson shot 4.3/game and shot 45%. But if it makes you happy, I will rephrase. All-star caliber > non all-star caliber. Keep in mind that Brooks didn't make the all-star team this year even though 3 western conference guards were injured.
Yes, Aaron fits a need. That need is, um, the other starting guard who plays horrific defense. But believe me, I'd rather send Kevin Martin packing than Aaron Brooks. I just don't see Adelman and Morey trading KMartin. KMartin: "But, Coach, I play no defense." Adelman: (pupils having turned to hearts) "That's okay." KMartin: "But, Coach, I play an average of 55 games per year." Adelman: "That's okay."
How is he butthurt? It is a perfectly logical question. Considering he is the only player on the Bobcat that is actually good, WHY would they trade him, especially since he hasn't declared that he wanted out yet?
His angry tone kind of makes it so. And weirder things have happened. Very unlikely, but not completely outside the realm of plausibility.
Really? Over Derrick Rose or Rajon Rondo? Yes, the East is the weaker of the two conferences, but lets not homerism blind us.
