Also, when Detroit have Smith at the 3 and Miami have James at the 3, Bass can play the 4 with Jones at the 3.

Can play Lee and Harden together, can move Lee to the 3 with 2 point guards and go really small and quick.

Just to be clear, yes Bass and Lee will help this team win games. Bass actually can play some low post defense, and does a lot of those little things coaches love. CLee is an upgrade all day long from Garcia. Solid perimeter defender with experience with these coaches.

However my concern is how will Morey be able to move Lee later on down the line? He's got another two years after this one.

Other questions are who else goes in the deal? Brewer seems to be the obvious choice but they will need a roster spot later on if they want to sign another true center like Camby. Will Morey auction off DMo as well in this same fashion?

If this deal is done the way it's rumored I think it helps this team win a few more games in the meantime with improved bench play, but it still leaves Morey with a lot more work to do in the future.

I agree. Lee and Bass are the type of player/contracts that Morey has mostly avoided.

Good players, but not exactly sought after around the league, on contracts that makes them only tradable by giving up something valuable.

    No thanks.

I think Morey can do better flipping other assets.

Prefer Millsap straight up over this.

I would agree with you except the fact this is a Dec. 19th trade DM could still flip CL at the trade deadline. This at least causes this trade to be 'possible' as described. Lee would get some playing time and Bass could potentially break into the rotation as well if he meshed well in practice. The drawback is the market will be middling to low for Lee and/or Bass between now and the trade deadline and potentially difficult to flip. I just don't think the contracts on their own make this trade a non-starter.

    Lee & Bass + Clippers 2015 1st round pick...

I don't like taking in these long term contracts. They will severely hamper or flexibility. But I guess thats all Morey could get, so be it.

I love the idea of acquiring Courtney Lee to play behind Harden (something we don't have), getting Bass to play PF and a draft pick for the draft this year who could turn into a solid PG.

Bass can stretch the floor enough and is a solid proper PF which we haven't had for so darn long.

I HATE the idea of Jeff Green who is more a SF than a PF. I'm done not having a natural PF for at least the next 50 years. SO done with being undersized.

BUT the Rockets trades never appear in the media when Morey is GM so proceed with caution with this news. I doubt it's true.

eh? Did I miss something? I just got home from work and was told we are getting the Clipper's 2015 1st round pick which Boston has the rights to. Why did you say we are getting a draft pick for this year's draft?

2015 makes even more sense...when Lin is off the Books and we have room for the PG

Why are you so worried about contracts. These guys make the team better NOW... Lee is an excellent add. And Morey still may flip one of them (or both) by the trendline.

And are you sure it's the Clippers 2015 1st round pick...? I don't understand why Morey would settle for that when Boston has like 3-4 1st round picks in this coming draft.

Wait, from the Clippers? That pick will suck. Not sure what the deal is there.

Haven't read the entire thread, but Lee and Lin are boys. They both have the Asian last name.

Anyway, yeah they seem like friends because I remember a tweet from Lee about being sad that Jeremy was being cut. He was worried about who to do the hand shake with.
