I didn’t think so until I heard about the Saturday nuke temper tantrum. Now I’m sure it needs to happen asap.
I scroll through Trump's Truth Social posts just to see how crazy he is. Besides all his hate mongering and election conspiracy posts, his non-stop rants, lies, and such, it's amusing how highly he talks about his fictional brilliance and high IQ. For some odd reason today he shared a couple articles about his Apprentice show ratings 22 years ago. Not sure why, but I guess he is desperately digging up anything he can find to make us believe he still has high approval ratings. One of the funniest posts he put on today was this statement.... “YOU CAN’T COMPROMISE ON SANITY AND COMMON SENSE!” I read that and laughed, because that delusional fool just gave us reason to call him unfit for duty.
CBS was the only major network that aired Trump's heavily-promoted prime time speech last thur the speech was full of false claims that even CBS news anchor, Dokoupil, had to call it out “There is an argument that it’s irresponsible to air the president’s speech tonight,” Dokoupil added Thursday. “But this speech will be made, it will be news, and it’s our job to cover the news. And so we are. My CBS News colleagues and I are reporting tonight along with you to make sense of it as you will, and we will.” Dokoupil also did a comprehensive fact check after the speech, and even cut it off as the president was attacking NBC and ABC. apart from the false claims, Trump appeared to be slurring as he was struggling to read on the teleprompter
I understand the appeal of the 25th Amendment as a fantasy for those feeling politically powerless, but it strikes me as a terrible talking point for politicians with a political base. For one, it ain't happening. For two, while Trump seems to be slipping a bit, the main problem with him is the personality disorders we knew about when we elected him, so it shouldn't be happening. For three, it thumbs its nose at the legitimacy of the electoral process that we use to choose our leaders. And, for four, it makes it sound like they don't think they can win in a straight-up match and need to try to manipulate the refs instead. How about go earn some votes instead.
