It’s not the talent. It’s again piss poor coaching coming out of training camp by this coach. It’s a pattern and they already screwed up by not finding a way to patch up whatever got screwed up with Bzdelick. An Ariza type would be great but it’s not the root problem which is simple defensive preparedness and principles. This team without Ariza types still should be able to run basic defense that holds teams under 160 points.
good rebounder? he's 6'8 and averaged 5 rebounds a game for most of his career. most decent point guards can average 5 rebounds a game
I don’t think Ariza moves the needle much, He probably helps some but not enough to cover up the massive deficiencies this team appears to have defensively.
Might as well wish for Ron Artest and Shane Battier while you're at it. Here's some crazy concepts: We need someone at the PF spot taller than 6'4. (Wonder when Anthony Bennett will be ready for a real try out?) We need to put a body between people and the basket. We need to learn what a "back door cut" is, so we can recognize when it's coming. This seems like a deeply rooted problem based on what I've seen this year. Last year I was upset about the rebounding and lack of boxouts. This year it has regressed further.
TUCKER at the 4 is not the problem. TUCKER AT THE 5 with a lanky dude with similar height at the 4 is.
