    Nick,

Great thread - you are so spot on with both of these things. That wire cam is so damn annoying and like you said, they always go to it at a critical point in the game.

As for Stockton, I think some of his problems may be attributed to who he is married too (the horrific Lesley Visser). I remember when she used to work for ESPN - Keith Olbermann would always make snide remarks about the stuff she wore, especially those ridiculous hats ("Good luck in Bolivia with Butch and Sundance, Lesley!"). Man, I loved Olbermann - too bad he is no longer with ESPN. But yea Stockton is way past his prime - no way in hell he needs to call anything that is remotely exciting.

Allan Houston has impressed me so far as a studio analyst for ESPN. he always brings good insight to the discusion and i think he and Greg Anthony work well together.

Pam Oliver is still stuck in the NFL when she is doing NBA games. Please, she called Stephen Jackson Stephen Davis once, and called the Mavericks the Cowboys.

I love the wire cam in football...maybe the NBA should try and adopt that style into their games...course the pace is faster and you'd need to move in and out quick; but you'd just need someone who understands the game manning it.

As I said, in football it works, in basketball, not so much, unless they could get to a look from half court so you can see how movement and picks are effective.

But I have to admit they did a pretty good job using the wire cam in the Spurs v. Suns game 3......it was almost watchable.
