It amazes me that people still believe all Lin did was hand the ball off to Harden and hide in the corner. He led the team in assists. Guys who hide in the corner don't lead there team in anything but maybe 3 point shooting.
No it absolutely isn't. The first two games of the season and several more going forward, were anything but just sitting at the thre point line. You can argue all day long that you don't think he got the ball as much as you would have liked to see, but he in no way spent the majority of his time on the court hiding in the corner.
OMG, that is best words of wisdom from Clutchfans.net! Can I recommend tinman to your class! Be careful, He is an 99er!
Jeremy Lin has proven so much more than so many of these folks on this board just straight ripping a guy who is only 24... Lin is going to be fine whether he plays for my Rockets or doesnt. Careers are often based on hard work and perseverance. And he has yet to show me that he cant do either. Most objective Rockets fans note that Jeremy has many limitations, but he has played to replicate his NYC stats on a year slate worth of games. With the defenses geared to stop both him and Harden. I expect Jeremy to figure out how to attack defenses and become more efficient. And i really expect him to improve his shot making. 12 stats(35 games played; 25 starts) PPG: 14.6 FGM/FGA: 4.9/10.9 3pt FMG/FGA: 0.7/2.1 FTM/FTA: 4.2/5.2 RPG: 3.1 APG: 6.2 SPG: 1.6 TO/G: 3.6 13' stats (82 games played; 82 starts) PPG: 13.4 FGM/FGA: 4.8/10.9 3pt FMG/FGA: 1.1/3.1 FTM/FTA: 2.6/3.4 RPG: 3.0 APG: 6.1 SPG: 1.6 TO/G: 2.9 His stats are extremely comparable. And yes while he didnt have so many monster scoring games like he did in a stretch of a few games in NY, he did very well to atleast replicate his stats playing along side a dynamic/ball-dominating scorer like James Harden(who himself was finding out what he can and cant do). If anything Jeremy will need to work on hitting more open shots, and just being a dead eye shooter. And i really laugh at those that think Beverly is the answer to our future PG.(he by haters has been analyzed on a fewer game sample than Jeremy Lin has during the time of Linsanity...and thats just terrible reasoning.) While Beverly has been a terrific defensive guard, I wish there was a way to analyze the offensive efficiency while he was on the court...The ball was just stagnant and the offensive possessions often looked confused. If he is unable to run the offense, he isnt doing a good job. And if you think I am being unfair in my assessment of Beverly based on the number of games played, that is exactly my point. We have zero clue of how Beverly will pan out. I dont buy the fact that a guy this dynamic wasnt given a shot in the NBA, and he had to find his way to a team via Russian Basketball in order to be noticed. He played against Derrick Rose, and yet, the NBA passed on him. There is clearly a reason. Bottom line, Lin unless proven otherwise, is going to be the starter, and Beverly will continue to come off the bench. But neither player is top of their craft as a PG.
Your post is too logical. Haters and trolls will never stop hating. They will ignore posts like these and continue to bash Lin just to bait posters. Its nice to see a couple of threads on here discussing lin with a balanced view. People keep saying they hate LOFs, but I havent seen any rediculous posts propping Lin up to be the next MJ in a long time. Mostly haters drawing bait from RATIONAL Lin supporters. This year will be an indicator in my mind whether Lin stays or goes.
all depends on what McHale does. If screws with Lin's minutes and his role, I would think that Lin is going to struggle again.
but Lin wasn't the PG, Harden was. And Lin when he was getting hot was benched in the middle of his streaks. McHale doesn't Like lin. And that fact is going to be expsed this year. i would not be surprised if Lin gets replaced by Beverley MidSeason. that is not out of the realm of possibility with McHale.
I smell something very suspicious for sure here. Too many Anti Lin trolls to count on a Rockets forum? that's kind of crazy right? there is always a reason and some of these guys have an Anti-Lin agenda to carry. I mean, it's trade him. Morey is lying about Lin's status. I've never seen one player who seems like a pretty good due dislike so heavily. I remember Z-bo, Marbury, Pringles, were all dislike. But not even to this level. After Marbury fell flat on his fact and eddie Curry became a lazy douche, nobody supported those losers. However, I don't see Lin being out of shape or a selfish douchebag with the Rockets yet. THe hate is unjusitified unless there is a hidden reason coming from the typical trolls.
There is no hate, there is only over sensitivity by fans of Lin who are unable to accept the reality of the situation.
It amazes me that STILL, anytime I open a Lin thread it is just filled with hate from LOF's that won't listen to a word you have to say.
no Rocket fan wants Jeremy Lin to fail. If he does well, everyone benefits. There's nothing wrong with pointing out that Lin had deficiencies last season which caused pause for alarm. He was easily the most inconsistent starter we had last season. "Lin averaged 13.4 points and 6.1 assists per game last season. Among the 14 prospective Western Conference starting point guards for next season (not counting Utah due to rookie Trey Burke being the likely starter), Lin ranked 11th in scoring and 13th in assists last season." Lin is a young 24, he has the capacity to grow, but there is absolutely nothing wrong with dissecting his season and critiquing him. is he good enough? it's fair to at least ask that much, and there is absolutely nothing wrong with posing that question.
Thank you, but realize, that the only way Lin answers both LOF and LOH is with time; something that everyone wants to rush. Same with Beverly. I can guarantee you this...They both will have a chance this year. AND Morey will get rid of parts that he doesnt see fit. I want a title whether it is with Lin, Beverly or someone else. I really dont give a ish... I was still in grade school when my Rockets won their first title. The memories of going to the Summit has quickly faded. Even my memories of some of the games are all mixed together. Some of the really solid posters on this forum can vouch that. Some of the young-uns on this board, werent even born, and many were too young to understand how crazy this city was. I want to see the Rockets win again. I want to see our city unite for a title run. Having Howard and Harden gets us very close. But we are only as good as the sum of our parts. If Lin performs, he (his contract) will be vindicated. If he doesnt, he will be the next bust. I have waited for 20 years to feel the thrill of being a championship city. I can wait a few years more years to see how we can get title #3.(the Texans is a totally different story...better win it this year...)
People want him to score more and assist more am I right? Great. Give him the ball and let him play point? Hmmmm.... We'll get back to you on that one.
