consider the addition of Jackson in the roster, as an excellent move to benifit us more on the 3 spots.
Kevin Garnett sounds better! And we are also giving Utah some additional stuff that is in consideration right now... Oh..and it's BE PART OF SOMETHING BIG! I don't think we should have given up that many draft picks...Rice could have been very valuable later on...now he is on the Jazz behind Harpring and Kirilenko. But Jim does bring veteran leadership.
I'm pretty sure the Wolves are pretty satisfied with testing out how their team will do next season with the current line-up they have. They're stacked....they're not going to go out and get rid of KG after they finally get him some support. Our chances of getting KG are about 1 in 5 billion. -Nick-
So you're telling me there's a chance. Anyways, I want to have the feeling something is in the works, but everytime I get that feeling, nothing happens. I really hope Les isn't just being a cheapass, I hope he realizes we are a third star away from being serious contenders, not just a team hoping to make the playoffs. Cat-Cato-Eddie for Jermaine O' Neil
I hope you guys are right.....I am tired of the little ripples....I want the promised BIG SPLASH ! DD
I think the deal they should be making right now is Ron Artest for Cuttino, with Utah handling the cap obligation for Artest's BYC. Perhaps another Indiana player to Utah and Cato in the deal, but maybe not. Yao/(Cato)/Meech Eg/Taylor Artest/AG JJ/(francis)/Pike Francis/Mooch That would drastically change the team for the better. Artest is the bad MF this team desperately needs to kick it in the ass, and to make it kick ass and take names on the court. Utah owes us something. The numbers don't match. They have cap room. They have to be brokering something. I'd just as soon move Cato and Eg or Cato and Taylor for a real 4, too, but that may be asking too much. Give me Ronnie Artest, and we can shut down or score on anyone.
Is there any coincidence that the Kobe Bryant saga continues? No. Dreams of KG being a Rocket are in a pipe that is very long, narrow, and dimly lit.
Yeah...maybe this is what Utah owes us...some insider behind the scenes negotiations... I wouldn't mind trading Artest for Mobley. Anything is possible. But nothing more than Mobley...no 2nd round picks or anything! Give them Ameech too! Yao and Cato would be one of the top center combos. Griffin and MoT should just bang and play hard and get rebounds...and Griffin should continue working on making his open shots and get stronger...MoT should be the great 6th man he has been. Artest and Adrian Griffin would make up the best defensive small forward position... Jackson and Eric Piatkowski are good quality role players to have. Francis is our leader along with Wilks as our main backup. Moochie is our cheerleader. This team would be great if everyone knew their role and there were no egos or disputes. Artest isn't that friendly...probably wouldn't be with Yao. Griffin doesn't talk. Adrian Griffin was just a gumchewing scrub who did his role...which is good. Mo Taylor is a nice guy...emotional...he and his lookalike Jim Jackson should be good together. Jackson and Mo Taylor will be good enforcers. They like to talk a lot. Piatkowski and Nachbar will become good friends. Francis is our cool leader...I don't think any of them can step up and score when we need it. Yao is developing. We will need a motion offense to get everyone involved with many different opportunities and ways to score. Mobley is still our 3rd best scorer and is a good defender. He isn't insane either. Garnett sounds great though. Cat-Cato-Eddie for Jermaine O' Neal and Ron Artest sounds good.
I believe Cat-Cato-Eddie for JO and maybe Tinsley would be our best bet. Im looking at MoT as untradable, NO ONE wants to take an overpaid PF that can't rebound.
it's gotta be for shareef. if there was any deal to be made it's going towards the idea of getting SAR. why wouldn't they? for one: -the rockets need a PF. a PF that can score when asked and rebound. soft D? webber has soft D too and no one's callin him out on that. for two: -this move can ship out the parts that won't be needed. players like taylor, griffin (gasp), even cato and cat could be trade bait. as for the hawks: -what better way to rebuild than getting a young PF that still has time to prove himself (especially how he'll be in the east) and a young SG that's underpaid? i'm callin it. if there's any movement after today's crazy day...it's for Shareef
I don't think SAR is the type of 4 we need, but at least we wouldn't have to worry about who's playing better between Griff and Mo-T.
honestly, i KNOW we need a banger and a defender at the four and not another scorer. but SAR rebounds AND scores. albeit his D is not ben wallacesque but, like you said, he would be an upgrade from EG and Mo Tay.
I've been thinking about trade partners, and a realistic possibility IMO is with Toronto. Possible deal: Maurice Taylor $7.6 mil., 4 years remaining Cuttino Mobley $5.3 mil., 2 years remaining Antonio Davis $11.8 mil., 2 years remaining Alvin Williams $5.4 mil., 4 years remaining Trade Exception: $4.3 mil. OR Kelvin Cato ???, 2 years remaining Cuttino Mobley $5.3 mil., 2 years remaining Antonio Davis $11.8 mil., 2 years remaining Alvin Williams $5.4 mil., 4 years remaining Trade Exception: comparable Why Rocks do this: Davis and Williams might fit team, JVG better than Taylor and Cuttino. Not sure where this would place the team in terms of the luxury threshold, but still about a million below where we were up to Rice/Amaechi + JJ deal(s). Why Raptors do this: similar reasons, shake things up. Lose Davis and Williams, but get scoring in the form of Cat and a decent big man in return in Mo/Cato. Importantly, pick up 4.3 mil in capspace or trade exception. Why Rocks don't do this: How much do we really gain from this trade? Why Raptors don't do this: Raps are stacked at swing positions. They need a starting point guard, not 2-guard. Mo/Cato at least at present a downgrade from Davis. I'd really like to see the Rocks pull off a deal for Rasheed, but I'm not sure what we could offer, even with the trade exception.
Which is worse? These or Rice + a bunch of draft picks and maybe some cash for Amaechi and one 2nd round draft pick? These trades would be better for Houston if they gave us a first round draft pick or Morris Peterson..
You know, if this was before the trade and it's somewhere along the lines of Cat + MoT for SAR, I would of been excited. But with a 6.5 million trade exception, we can get much better.
