It sounds like a lot of fun, and if I had more time I'd consider doing it for free. But unfortunately I don't anticipate having much free time during the coming season, and I'd rather not commit myself.

Would they pay for NBA League Pass in order to get your job accomplished?

That's not too bad for a little part time job. I applied. I hope it's legit.

This makes me think they might be charting previous games. If that's the case, there would be no commercials or halftime, so you would save a solid 30-45 minutes there.

The only thing I'm wondering is how they will make sure people aren't entering a bunch of random crap.. I guess they would band anybody doing that.

"What you will be doing is watching the games (through the supplied video) and then Inputting the following Defensive information."

..that looks as if you don't do it during the game itself, so it wouldn't cause you to miss any action...or am I reading this wrong?..

No, you're right, but I also read that they put money into your PayPal account after five games, which is pretty sketchy if you ask me...

IMO, it all just looks fake...

that doesnt seem all that easy espcecially if you have to do it for every single possession. I would think it would take at least a couple of hours so i dno if 35 bucks is really worth your time. Definatly sounds interesting though...

LMAO...got to love that they"built" their site on Wordpress.

    Come on people...

If you had enough cash to pay peeps $35 a game to chart, you think you would be able to have a decent site up.

As far as I can tell, they aren't asking for any personal information. You can use paypal, or they said they could mail a check.

The only risk is you waste several hours of your time watching 5 NBA games and charting them in detail without compensation. If that's not a risk you're willing to take, this job probably isn't for you anyways. I think they're looking for NBA enthusiasts who would actually enjoy the process of charting and contributing to their analytic efforts.

I think they are asking people to chart games played in the 2007-2008 season, not the upcoming one. Check the FAQ.

    You're right, good catch.

I'll make a note of that in the original post.

Seems like quite a few people are saying "it's only xx dollars an hour". Well, some of us aren't rolling in the dough just yet, so $12 to $18 an hour for picking apart an NBA basketball game is a damn good deal (if legit).

As I said already, I signed up. However, I will never give them any kind of "useful" personal information. The minute they start spewing some BS about needing that kind of info in order to send payment, I walk. Pretty simple.

Good luck, man! I would definitely apply if college didn't take so much of my time.
