Wow! Talk about overrating people. Joe Johnson?? Joe Johnson? The one that just got eliminated from the playoffs...his whole team swept. How bout that performance he had. Sure, let's trade all our picks and young potential and defense for JJ and Bosh. Yeah, how'd he do in the playoffs? What's that? He didn't go? But Bosh is supposed to be this big savior. Wow, it's like most of you don't even think before you type. Let's all jump on the ridiculousness bandwagon.

None of KG, Pierce, or Allen had major success in the playoffs before they came together. That kind of disproves your entire point.

I actually prefer having Joe Johnson to Kevin Martin simply because Johnson is a MUCH better defender than Martin. And yes, for the few years while Yao is around I believe we should give up some young potential for a chance at an NBA title. Totally worth it in my book...

I like how everyone is talking about Johnson getting eliminated from the playoffs.
Johnson's second round appearances - greater than 0
    Martins second round appearances- 0

Your intentions were good but your delivery is pretty off.

One player does not a team make. How about Wade? Lebron?

There's a big difference between playing in the East with Bibby, Horford, Josh Smith and playing in the west with Beno Udrih, Jason Thompson, and Spencer Hawes.

me too, everytime I see Joe Johnson play he settles for jumpers, at least Martin drives it in.

both suck. please dont sign either one of them for the sake of signing someone (see Ariza).... they wont be worth the money theyll be given.

I prefer Martin over Johnson, also I dont want Raja Bell or Mike Miller (well maybe Mike Miller).

why to rebuild again, we are only missing 1 or 2 pieces.

    reading comprehension:

im saying a signing of bosh or johnson is comparable to signing ariza -- signing just to sign someone because we couldnt get the deal we wanted; we should sign someone who would truely be a piece of a championship team or someone that would allow us, salary wise, to do so.

signing johnson or bosh to long term deals is just gonna give us the same results as the last decade. is johnson better than tmac? is bosh better than yao? even if you said yes, there's no way theyre better enough to put us into championship contention. we'd be stuck like we're stuck with ariza's overpaid contract.

The Rockets only have the MLE available, since they are over the salary cap. Who is this championship piece that will sign for the MLE, that is better than JJ or Bosh?

D.M's M. O. i think will be make a big splash & then look for a boost at the dead line but some of you seem to be calling for a bill fitch like trade older for young &that WOULD BE WRONG if you have to overpay i am all for Bosch but i think d.m. has proven he is capable of picking talent&developing or getting value out of picks in the 2nd round i think if you look around the n.b.a. you won't find a lot of g.m.'s that have had as MANY 2nd rounders in the N.B.A. as dork ELVIS

Why would we get rid of the Black Joe Johnson and then settle for the regular Joe Johnson?

that's the point. we shouldnt have signed ariza because we have less cap space now. we shouldnt sign bosh/jj for the same reason. we signed ariza to a ridiculous contract, even more so when you consider the previous value contracts that morey signed in scola or landry.

i'd rather do absolutely nothing now than take on more bloated contracts and having to deal with its salary cap implications down the line.

arizas contract is perfect for him, you guys are ridiculous, he was the starting 3 on a championship team and was arguably the lakers second best player during the playoffs, if you have two guys that a team is focusing on and ariza is the third option on the court he can provide all sorts of problems. just think next year he will be the last man teams will be planning for in our starting line up, he quickness, length and athleticism is goin to give teams fits when they think they have brooks, scola, yao and martin on lock. weve needed a player like ariza for quite some time, sure he failed at being a go to guy but you get what you pay for...

You still make no sense. The projected salary cap is $56.1. If the Rockets renounce Scola and Lowry to remove the cap holds for free agents and not sign Ariza($6.3 mil for 2010-11), their salary would be $51.7 mil for team salary and $5.4 mil for cap space.

That's $0.4 mil less than the 2009-10 MLE, $5.8 mil.

Where is this magical cap space for signing your premier free agent? Who is this premier free agent? Lebron? Wade?
