There isn't one player that the Knicks or Hawks would want from us? So if we offered Wood, KPJ, Tate, KMJ they would hang up the phone? You mentioned EG as well, so that is like 5 guys. Also, House is someone that is desirable around the league since his contract value is solid. Literally anyone on this team except for Wall could be moved relatively easily, there aren't any other bad contracts. All of these guys mentioned are NBA players and would be in the rotation elsewhere. Combined this is not a good team, and even with them all developing we are far from an 8th seed, but my point is there are 7+ NBA quality players and in my opinion an awful coach. KPJ and Wood have potential to be very good. The rest are role players.

Just my two cents, but Popovich had a pretty bad first season too. Now, am I comparing Silas to Pop? Hell no! But I think he deserves another chance to win us over (hopefully also with a number 1 pick to get the next season started)

I don’t know much about Gary Waffle’s credibility, but I think getting rid of our head coach after one horribly unlucky season would be a mistake. At the very least Coach Slim had the guys playing hard for him every night down the stretch.

Umm, you did not answer my question, what you did was take your opinion of the quality of those players and assumed that the Knicks and/or Hawks view them as highly as you do. Clearly the guys on your list are NBA rotation players, they are in the NBA! That proves nothing.

Do you think the Knicks would trade Julius Randle for Christian Wood? Or Alec Burks for John Wall? What about RJ Barret for Eric Gordon? I mean maybe they would give up Mitchell Robinson and Kevin Knox, but those guys suck.

Also, your argument is based on the assumption that the team is actually trying to win, when it is obvious to everyone this side of Stevie Wonder that the team was trying to lose. Guess what, most Rockets fans know that and don't care! In fact we support it.

I understand that you love the Rockets and don't want to admit that we are hosed as a franchise. I have seen this happen before. I mean from 2009 through 2012, I did not watch a single Rockets game. Or worse, the post Hakeem-Drexler years from 1999-2002 where we were straight trash. Again I watched few if any games.

But, you know what happened? Our team rebuilt, recovered, and had some nice runs after those lulls. It will happen again; it just takes time.

What I don't want is to be like the Knicks who have been terrible for 17 of the last 20 years because they kept trying to find shortcuts. We need to be like the Sixers or the Astros: Lose now, build through the draft, and make some strategic and financially sound roster moves to build up the team. Look at each of those organizations now. I think the Sixers are a better than 50/50 to takeout the Nets and got to the Finals and the Astros have been competitive championship team for going on 6 seasons. That should be our goal, not going 35-47 for 4 years so you and your buddies can be entertained.

LOL dude that is a massive text book to write when you have no idea what I have been posting about. Looks like you just joined so obviously have zero clue. You already had a narrative in your head and wanted so badly to write about it. Christ, reading comprehension is a part of grade school for a reason. I never mentioned they are in some sort of incredible position, I have said this in the past on numerous posts that they have been fleeced on transactions.

My point and the topic of this entire thread is simply that Silas is an awful coach, and should have been able to do better with what he was given, and better means a handful of games. Obviously if this story is true others close to the team think the same as I do. The fact that you are some fair weather fan and openly admit it gives you no credibility. I haven't missed a playoff game, and in the Harden era watched 95%+ of games. You are openly admitting that you only watch when the team is good, just discredits any opinion you have of the team for the foreseeable future. Stick to Instagram as a means to express yourself, as that is where the casuals are. Maybe jump on that Knicks or Nets bandwagon.

Oh hell no! Silas on the hot seat is ridiculous (unless there's an NBA coach who would accept less money).
The team is nowhere near what it was when he took the job. No way he can be on the hot seat based on results.
Give him at least 2 more seasons to develop a squad before we start to judge him.

I don''t know. This is a rebuild and he drew a raw hand. His job is to teach the game now. Think patience will persevere and losing accepted. nobody can coach this team to victory so why bother throwing people over the side of the ship. He probably should get 5 years.

That is the reality, who would you replace the guy with? I would give him one more season and see if there is significant improvement and give him a second based on that. There is a possibility the players become more confident and realize the coach is an issue and he loses the locker room eventually. He is lucky these guys are all new to their roles and have not developed egos YET, but they have witnessed how veterans like Harden and PJ were able to force their way out by being unprofessional.

Do you want a coach that will get you 17 wins a year, or one that will get you 22? Who gives a ****.

Van Gundy tree sticks together so won’t be surprised to see him in New York or New Orleans (if he doesn’t get a HC job)

I’d give him another year IF… we come out with a top 4 draft pick and can maybe land some talent during free agency. I definitely wouldn’t judge him off this past season, I’m not sure too many coaches would have gotten many more wins. Him waiting 20 years is awesome but that is how it goes in professional sports. You better make great use of your chances.

At first i was going to be like "really"? cause the Magic weren't good defensively this year (26th in league in Drtg), but they were top 2 the prior two years, which is surprising. Ultimately you'll only be as good as your players and their health...

    Not a fan.

Clifford is a hybrid defense fanatic. He is about players fitting his scheme rather than fitting his scheme to his players.

It's why Oladipo, AG, Isaac, Ibaka, etc. never fulfilled their potential playing for him, especially in postseason.

And Clifford is completely clueless on offense.

Rockets most effective defense is when they switch, this is also best defense in postseason.

This is pretty much correct as long as the younger players are learning some fundamentals.
