The argument for US: 1) All victories came on the road. 2) Won against #1 ranked Germany on a neutral field (Normandy). 3) Lit up Japan at Hiroshima and Nagasaki, style points for running up the score.
And another thing. I can respond any which way I please. If someone would have informed me in a polite manner I would have apologized and it would have been over. That was not the case however.
Germany became too predictable from their blitz (krieg) strategy... I tell you bout some teams (countries) that fall in love with blitzing. They blitz, blitz, and blitz until they get stung by a great aerial attack or ground attack. USA ate them alive in air (passing attack) and on the ground. Also, the America's offensive line included another Allied power (GB) and an entire ocean (Atlantic). Those Nazis weren't going to reach American soil and get to our QBs and skill players. Germany couldn't win in extreme cold weather (Russia)...they also couldn't advance too far into Russia. You know what I think Germany was a pretender all along.... Nazis (Hitler's) Propaganda = Overhyped (German Press = 1941 version of ESPN) Germany = Michigan or Ohio State, modern day Cowboys...just wait until they play someone who is formidable opponent.
Germany also had a slightly better home-field advantage...those countries they invaded were much closer neighbors to them (most lacking a bulky military).
I figured as much but i thought the reason for that was to give credit to the person who made the story. Him linking to the site doesn't do that. Eh...not a big enough deal to argue though.
The prettiest girl doesn't always win prom queen, and I think that soviet union and the U.S need to accept that.
since when do we have to provide a link to a post on another BBS? that's r****ded, especially considering the fact that odds are that isn't even the original "post"? this isn't a newspaper or blog article, it's a post from another bbs
I think Russia should be #1. If not for the brutal game the following week the US would have never one. Germany had an emotional let down after battling Russia. Classic trap game.
Here's a hilarious video to accompany this story: <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/P1hTx9CNKcY&hl=en&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/P1hTx9CNKcY&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object> LOL
WOW, this truly was a great day in the Hangout. The last couple of weeks have been really lacking. This post + the spider thread = FTW!!!
Does this mean that Mexico is a cenicienta team next year? No menudo or caldo bowl this year, but a surprise move in coaching... no?
Germany = the Vikings in the late '80s. They "traded away" all their best prospects (Nuclear program and Jewish atomic & rocket scientists) who went on to bigger and better things with America's Team. Russia = Patriots in the mid-'90s. They're okay now, but their current quarterback (Stalin) is kind of an overrated d*ck.
Germany is like SMU...cuz alot of 'em got the death penalty. Japan is like U of H from the late '80s/early '90s; they got really good really quickly, but you just wouldn't believe it if you saw them today. Russia is like Miami or Oklahoma in the '80s. They're very, very good: pretty much the best, but you just know there are dead bodies all over the place. United States is like Northwestern or Wisconsin in the Rose Bowl, because they kind of came out of left field.
I'm with R2K and I believe that the OP should have posted a link or at least said he found it on another forum. He was trying to pass it off as original content. I take the internet very seriously, and so should you.
