Dang. Hope he recovers fine. He was starting to do so well too. He was becoming one of my favorite players. The guy would fill up the box score like crazy. Now the best player on my fantasy team is gone in a crucial stretch in the fantasy season. Get well soon GW! :(

FEBRUARY 25, 2008 - Charlotte Bobcats forward Gerald Wallace developed post-concussion symptoms over the weekend that included headaches, drowsiness and soreness of the neck and jaw, according to Bobcats team physicians Dr. Glenn Perry and Dr. Joe Garcia.

Wallace is scheduled to see Charlotte-based neurologist Dr. Jerry Petty later this week, where he will go through a series of neural tests.

Following the evaluation and based off the recommendation by Dr. Petty and team doctors, a timetable will be determined for his return. At this point, no timetable has been set.

Wallace suffered a Grade 3 concussion on February 22 against the Sacramento Kings. Further tests at Presbyterian Hospital later that night revealed no fractures and no bleeding.

The injury occurred with 9:54 left in the third quarter after an inadvertent elbow by Kings forward Mikki Moore. Wallace was immediately taken to the hospital for evaluation where he received a CAT-Scan and other on-site tests. He was later released and returned home.

It takes a courageous or crazy perimeter player to mix it up with the big boys in the paint every single play. The inside play in the NBA is still very physical. You actually have less skilled players now in the paint who are strictly bangers with no discernable skills to speak of. THeir job is to push and elbow and scratch and claw. Skinner, Dalembert, Kwame, Ben Wallace etc are very clumsy and the only way they can stay on the floor is if they play physical. They would be out of the league if they didn't bang in the paint.

So lay off of Tmac when he doesn't drive every single play. ;)

Dwayne Wade, Gerald Wallace, Desmond Mason are always injured because they play recklessly. Kobe Bryant has a great feel for when to drive and when to shoot.
Michael Jordan became a much more perimeter oriented player as his career went on.

Jumpshooting every play is not an efficient way to score, but driving among the trees is not without consequence. Being a one trick pony like Gerald Wallace , places him at greater risk of being injured. He has been working on his jumpshot and he should take more of them.
