Look closely at his lower left arm... I'm sure most of you guys know. I saw it during the dunk contest and he kept pointing at it. Wonder if he knew???
How good is this guy? We want a guy who can score as well as do good defense. We do not want another Vince Cater here.
You know what that means, right? He's married to the Rockets. He can't sign with any other team. It's kind of like getting a tattoo of your wife's name on your buttocks. You better love that woman or at least tolerate her.
Really no one know who or what Gerald Green will be. Right now he is a project that I think we should take a chance on. Low risk, high reward. Better to have a potentially amazing young player than a slightly older play who while good may never be as complete as Green can be.
Speaking of idiots! I remember how you arrogant fans in New Jack City were proclaiming the Rockets would go down in flames in 5 in the 94 finals! Then, the Spurs took you to school in 99. Y'all haven't fared well vs. the Texas teams of late in the playoffs have you? We got a saying in Texas "it aint bragging if you can do it! Problem is, y'all haven't been doing it much, have you? Hey, one thing about Rocket fans they're slow to come around but, they DO come around. You'll see Sun. nite TC will be rocking! Bulls or not. This game tonight will/would jolt comatose people back to life!
I don't know what to say about Green...he could end up being a solid player or a total bust. But Morey should probably get GM of the year, but will lose it to Ainge or Kupchak. Morey didn't get any deals delivered on a silver platter. Most of our deals came through the draft or trades for bad contracts. Even though it seems like Les is salary dumping.....Morey is slowly builiding this team for the future, which means to the point where Rockets will still be a playoff team even after Yao and T-Mac are past their primes.
Worse case scenario, if he is still here next year then the Rockets have a contestant in the slam dunk contest
How often do they bring back players who have lost slam dunk contests? I know they did D. Howard this year but he did not win last year, and normally they always have new guys.
Green wore #5 on the Celtics #15 on the Wolves. He will be wearing #25 on the Rockets (Horrys old #) I wonder what his jersey will be next year?
This move might be closer to Alton Ford like than McGrady-lite, but it brings some youthful spirit to the team for the time being
It will be good to see what he shows the Rox on the practice court. He is lucky that Adelman is the coach now instead of JVG. Adelman runs much more scrimmages than JVG did so they will be able to see him play plenty before the end of the season. I hope he shows the Rox some positive signs behind the scenes and they sign him for a couple years on a low contract. Then we can have our very own Monta Ellis bargain on the team.
If you're expecting him to get playing time you might be disappointed... http://blogs.houstonpress.com/ballz/2008/02/burning_the_midnight_oil_with.php
