I'll tell you one thing for sure. Green will finish strong on the fast breaks, something Tmac seems to be hesitant to do lately. <object width="425" height="355"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/qKZkK1NZz3U&rel=1"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/qKZkK1NZz3U&rel=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="355"></embed></object>
But he CAN shoot from downtown, especially playing on this team. Green will shoot 40% + from 3 next year.I expect him to actually play and play well THIS year....no developmental league or splinters for Green IMO.Our team defense just got a lot better today.
i like the looks of his jumper...obviously it looks good cuz its a highlight mix of them going in, but he's got good form and a quick release...we already know about the hops n ability to finish..heres to hoping this ends up being a steal..
You are being dramatic when you say the Rockets have given up on the season based on a couple of minor trades. If they dumped T-Mac for expirings and draft picks, I could see it, but come on. Bonzi?
is this a done deal yet or what? are we just going on speculation? so he said he's headed to Houston, do we have any reports yet? chron, espn, yahoo, anything?
I mean Snyder is also a excellent dunker, so one dunker for another dunker, and both have terrible jump shot.
Links? Is this official? Anyways, assuming it is true......... Welcome to Houston G-Green-all is forgiven now (for ditching OSU)!
Okay trade. Is there any other trade coming? The deadline time passed. If no, then our team is going to get worse in the second half of the season. We lost Bonzi.
He will be unrestricted free agent after the season, so what are the picking-up-his-option some of you guys talked about?
Finally found something official from NBA.COM: Houston acquires Gerald Green from Minnesota in exchange for Kirk Snyder, a second-round pick in 2010 and cash considerations. http://www.nba.com/transactions/current_month_transactions.html
Source: Minneapolis Star-Tribune Looks like the Wolves are finalizing a deal that will send unhappy Gerald Green back home to Houston for 6-6 guard Kirk Snyder and a second-round draft pick. A third-year guard from Nevada-Reno, Snyder has averaged 3.8 points in nine games this season, the last on Jan. 11 against the Wolves in Houston. He has been on the inactive list for 22 games this season. Basically, a deal to get something for a guy who managment determined had no future with this team. Time will tell. He has star athletic talent, but…. Snyder, like Green, has a contract that expires after this season. As of 2:45 p.m. — 45 minutes after the deadline — it’s not really, truly official yet.
You are being silly. If some of you were GM's you would turn the Rockets in the Knicks West. I also think a lot of you seriously overvalue Bonzi Wells. He's inconsistent, shoots poorly from the outside and frequently goes off the reservation on defense. A solid back up point guard who knows Adleman's system and can shoot is worth more than him for this team. Being able to get rid of James' albatross of a contract is a nice bonus. I think Green could help us match up with the up and down teams right away and he has a great upside. How can you b**** about shipping Kirk Snyder for somebody like Green?
Agreed, this guy can shoot the Rock much better than Bonzi or MJ. I've seen him play in the summer leagues against pro's, Dleaguers, and overseas/former NBA ballers. The only guy who gave him fits was Rashard Lewis, who is the man when it comes to Fonde Summer League. Rashard plays like Ron Artest in the summer and Novak during the season.
All those side corner threes that were going to Bonzi will now go into Jackson and Green. I like this deal. Plus i cant believe you guys didnt see this coming.... during the Slam Dunk contest Green was pointing at his arm showing you what team he is going 2!!!!!! You can see half of it... has the skyline of houston right there on his forearm.
