I still feel like we should have given this kid a better chance.

In 20 min tonight against Chicago, he put up 18 pts on 7-11 shooting, 1-2 from behind the arc, 3-4 from the line, 1 D-reb, Ast, Block and steal.
Of course hes still really raw - he gave up 2 TOs AND got 4 fouls!!!

Still, i'm happy he's getting a chance and even though hes a maverick, im pulling for him to have a breakout yr.

Sorry, nothing against Green, but if he's a Mav, I hope he doesn't even make the playoffs. More against the Mavs than Gerald personally.

Hoping the Mavs go 0-82. ;)

Maybe they can win 1 for Green :D, that's all I give them. (Just can't be against the Rockets)

My lasting memory of Gerald Green will be when he took off his shoes and put it on the judges table in the dunk contest and Darryl Dawkins swiped and knocked off the shoes in disgust like "who da #%@$ does this lil ninja think he is"

The thing about Adelman's offense is that we need smart players to run it, which Gerald is not. He'll fare much better with a PG like Kidd than he ever would've done here.

i realize that but how much is green really going to play WITH Kidd in the reg. season? We might as well have not cut him and set him up with John Lucas over the summer or something to strengthen his fundamentals.

By cutting him we basically slapped him in the face and said, Mr. Green you have no place with the rockets, period. Think about it, he played like 1 game! Imagine what would be going through your head, "damn, i finally got to my hometown team and even they didn't give me a chance..."

I lost a little respect for RA/Morey/whoever that day...

LMAO! Obviously a Green relative. He'd be completely useless with Artest already here. Mike Harris already has his spot, and Harris > Green.

I wouldn't feel bad at all if I were Green. I'd feel very fortunate that I earned over a million dollars in my NBA career without even knowing how the play the game of basketball.

Playing with Jason Kidd will make him a very good NBA player...

The thing I wondered is why the Rockets signed Bobby Jones to the 10 day contract and had him playing while Green was on the bench. I only remember Green playing in one game against the Wizard's if I recall correctly.

I love it when people act as if Kidd is still a great point guard.

I lost respect for Gerald Green that day. The Rockets did him a favor because maybe that "slap in the face" woke him up to the reality of the NBA that he needed to grow up and work hard for a change. If he hangs on and makes the Mavs roster, fine. Green may not have the brain to focus for an 82 game season.

you can continue loving it. Jason kidd at his old age, is still better than whoever that plays PG for the rox. For the past 5 years.

So many people here said Green wouldn't even be picked up by an NBA team again.

Thats what I said.....except the 'daddy's little boy' part.

It was because of his "commitment" that we had the #1 rated recruiting class that year. He could have and would have been the best player ever in our program's history.

Yea I'm hoping he can make the best of his playing time on the court as well. Too bad we didn't keep him I really liked his game. I know his B-ball IQ wasn't that high but he did have some skills we could have use on this team.
