he's not fundamentally sound but athleticism and effort makes up for some of his mistakes on that end.
He won't always be this good obviously but I think it's good to have another shooter. Hopefully he's hot long enough for Gordon to break out of his funk.
I didn’t watch tonight’s game missed it. But I’ll watch the full game later. Here’s the full highlight. I liked Green when he was in Phoenix he had a quick release and would make unbalanced 3 point shots looked easy. Looks like he still got it. And when we signed him I liked it because he was a better option than what we had. Weber is still being shy about shooting but he showed he has a good release. And bobby brown doesn’t cut it. Not even during garbage time. Tucker is streaky but he isn’t a great penetrator to the rim or a great 3 point shooter. So this was great when we need it the most. With all the injuries piling up. And now Harden added to that list. We should bench everyone next game against the Lakers so that no one gets injure again.
So what's been his trouble with finding a home with....any NBA team? This is his 10th stint (2nd with the Rockets) in his career where he's never played more than 2 seasons with a team.
Green has been absolutely amazing. You can't knock anything because he's doing everything. He can regress -- within reason -- at everything and STILL be a major asset.
He came in at the opportune time because his offense helped make up for the loss of Harden's points. So glad we signed him, now let's keep him.
He seems like one of those players where he never caught break or never was able to show his potential or never had a break out year to guarantee himself an extended time and a contract from any team. imo he made huge mistake when he skipped college.
I wouldn't say he made a huge mistake skipping college and going straight to the pros. He did get drafted in the 1st round. I think any kid that has the opportunity to get drafted 1st round guaranteed, they need to do it. He's played almost 550 NBA games and has made atleast 10m maybe more who knows. I'm sure your right and his game might be more refined had he went to college but man passing up guaranteed 3 year multi million dollar contract for college at age 18. I don't think any of us could do that if put in his position
Gerald is good enough to be on this team in a off the bench role... thinking he would get cut was dumb and ridiculous. Our bench needed more talent.
Green gave some passionate words during his postgame interview with Bullard... "This is what I dreamed about" "Putting this jersey on is a straight honor." "Me being from Houston, I'm giving it my heart and my everything" "This is what I grew up watching, this is what I grew up wanting to be a part of" "I'm on cloud 9." "It's an HONOR to put on this jersey." Also said he needs to improve because he's not in shape. Spoiler
Give this man a contract into next season! This is why you always look out for veterans and need a coach that give guys an opportunity to show what they have. It’s a bonus that he’s from here, but also a factor in his passion! Immediate fan favourite for sure. Is Kendall Marshall available by any chance or in China / Europe? I remember MDA maximised his play in LA with almost 40% on threes and 8.8 APG! Granted it was 2012, but might we worth looking at.
He's not a smart player (understatement), and historically hasn't been much of a system guy. But he plays hard, he can shoot, and he's athletic. In an effort to keep guys minutes down, you could do a hell of a lot worse. Even when we get healthy he could be useful for 10-15 minutes. But when healthy, he wouldn't crack our playoff rotation.
Gerald Green after 27 point game when asked why nobody took a chance on him: "Maybe you should ask the Milwaukee Bucks"
