How did he get elected then? Perhaps you mean on CF? Although I'm sure there are Trump supporters here.

I LOOOOVVVEEE the fact that she's a surfer. Huge plus in my book. Even though I live up in DFW now, I'm one of the 5 people people in Texas you'll see paddling around the chop slop at 61st street (RIP Flagship) when there is anything higher than Knee High.

So yeah... one thing we DEF agree on there.

You haven't seen posts like that from me, although I will say that those who still support trump after everything he's done to damage this country at home and abroad are either willfully ignorant, or simply not very bright.

I know. And I don't think anyone actually means anything by it. But, my wild ass guess is that people don't really think through the fact that "trailer park" references is really just a socio-economic jab. Again, I'm not offended by it, and don't ever get offended by your posts.

This is the Dem's best bet for winning 2020 of the candidates who have declared. Prove me wrong.

Best bet is hard this early on, and of course the "best bet for winning" is a poor way to vote, we should always vote for who we agree with on policies first, this would likely be Bernie, Warren, Gabbard or Yang for me.

I could see Andrew Yang's message resonating very well during the debates, he's about to bring an entirely new talking point to mainstream politics with his laser focus on the economic effects of automation, this level of focus on economics, much like Bernie last election, will be a big win with the working class, be it republican, independent or democrat. This alone may make him a great match against Trump.

Such as? And don't say "feelings."

Again, you are far too old to still think the way you do. Liberals are typically young kids that don't know any better.

Well I think that moderates are a better bet because the middle is open for the taking. And I just speak from a strategy point there. I don't think any candidates 100 percent match my own will. I will check out Yang some more btw. Thanks.

I think moderates are a bad bet, Hillary was a moderate. The majority of this country has mostly left or even "far left" values that align with left candidates. The democratic party needs to do a better job reaching out to disenchanted non-voters who already agree with what the party is supposed to be for. Undercutting left values to attract moderate Republicans is the very reason the democratic party is such a mess, that just disenchants the majority of Americans who have left values.

Having candidates that aren't corrupt, like Bernie/Yang/Warren/Tulsi, is a great way to attract independents and moderate right people. Hilariously (more so sadly) Trump was elected because many on the right viewed him as an uncorrupt outsider who was going to fix the economy for the working people. The left candidates I listed fit the exact uncorrupted & working class economic-focused bill that many on the right (poor and working class rural America) are in desperate need of.

Ok but there you go. Hilary didn't lose because she was moderate. She lost because she was corrupt. And no a majority of the country are not far left but are center left. And that center is where you get people who swing and don't hold loyalty to a party. In essence the center is where your voters are. The far ends already have their minds made. You must go for the swing votes to win. The entire concept of far right and left explains that they are outliers by definition. I don't think it is so simple as target the far left. Politics has actually largely deviated from left and right into a new paradigm. Many are still using the old paradigm unfortunately. Globalism v nationalism is one such issue which can be left or right. Trump wisely went pro America. Hilary types can't escape the grip of international money and these types are beholden to those outside of the US and multi national corporations and it really shows (TPP was a disaster waiting to happen for example) Anyway tell me what should the DNC values be? It is very unclear. Afterall it is a corporation that exists to make money and hold power to in turn make money. Let's not beat around the bush. Can such an organization have values? What are they supposed to be?

One more thing... you have to plan around swing state. So what if you have more leftists in states like Cali and Ny? It may make the USA more blue but the election is not based on popular vote. So again going far left is handing Trump 2020.

Since you believe Beto is the mayor of El Paso, I want to get ahead of this one and let you know also that Tulsi is not the mayor of Honolulu.

Oh wow, I did make a major mistake on that one. My bad. He is a rep. He really acts like some small town mayor so I think it just got wedged in my subconscious that he was mayor. Thanks for the correction. Egg on my face.
