Really? There's alot of smoke coming from there. My office is by the Minute Maid so I can't really tell what's going on besides smelling the smoke.
I heard the fire trucks by my window, I assume its above issue. I know they were doing some construction by there.
UPDATE: Someone in my office was telling me the fire is on the other side of 59 in the old Chinatown area. I have no idea how they know though. False alarm on my part I guess.
Restaurant Erupts Into 2-Alarm Fire Smoke Could Be Seen For Miles In Downtown POSTED: Tuesday, May 11, 2010 HOUSTON -- A two-alarm fire broke out at a downtown restaurant Tuesday afternoon, KPRC Local 2 reported. Firefighters were sent to the building on Polk near Highway 59 at about 2:15 p.m. The name of the restaurant was not immediately available. Black smoke poured from the roof and could be seen for miles. The fire was near the George R. Brown Convention Center, but it was not involved. Big downtown convention center near the baseball field and near Toyota center. It's NOT on fire - the fire is across the street from the GRB.
