Sad day. Everyone is pretty optimistic about it, but there's a lot of fear in Denver right now. As hard headed as he is, you can tell that his players really respect him and everyone is really behind GK right now.
He's never been my favorite person in the NBA, but he's sure a tough dude. Good luck to him in fighting this, again. I can't imaging having to go through it once and he gets the pleasure of doing it all over again.
Wow tough break. On top of his own issues, I seem to recall that his son, Coby Karl, had thyroid cancer a couple of seasons back. I hate to hear news like this. I have lost several friends to cancer over the years. George Karl is a damn good coach. I wish the best for him.
thyroid cancer for son, prostate cancer and now throat cancer for Dad. the Karl boys are fighters, but I wouldn't want to be in that family line... I hope he takes as much time as he needs, take the Rudy T approach and focus on health...
That interview with George Karl was tough. You could see the pain that was eating at him... hope he gets better soon.
Throat an neck cancer? Ugh. I've always had a healthy respect for him, even when he was owning us in Seattle. My best wishes and I hope for a full and quick recovery. Sad, sad news.
