Lol zealously representing their client is "lame." At least try to sound like a reasonably thinking human being. Regardless of what you think about what happened with Chauvin, attorneys have duties and obligations to their client. I guess the defense attorneys should just pack it in because Chauvin is a scumbag.

    Potential powder keg brewing here.

I hope he gets a long sentence, and people don't have to take to the streets.

A valid and zealous defense is necessary in justice. You can't have defense lawyers making judgement. Their job is to provide the strongest defense possible and let the jury decide.

I realize that. I just think the whole "crowd" fear was so pathetic. Honestly, I can't imagine a worse job than defending some scumbag, in hopes he walks free. That goes double for some pedophile or child abuser or rapist, who is caught in the act, and obviously guilty. The only satisfaction would be getting someone off who was framed or falsely accused.

I liked And Justice For All with Al Pacino, dealing with the disgust of defending guilty clients.

Their primary job is a complete acquittal. Second to that is a hung jury. Next is to limit damage (lose only on the lowest charge)

To that end, they need to have at least one juror on their side. Painting Floyd as a "bad guy" is one attempt. Painting the picture that Chauvin was so focused on the crowd that he lost track of the situation is another attempt. Saying the other stuff in Floyd's system caused his death is another.

They may come across as sleezy, but we need defense attorneys.

As long as they perform ethically and within the boundaries of the law I have no problem with them and how they do their job.

I suppose we can go back to lynching.

Isn't that what Chauvin is being accused of?

Curious as to how Biden's comments could be considered controversial and how they might influence a sequestered jury?

Sincere question. Did you care about the dozens of active trials that Donald Trump as president expressed his opinions about regarding a proper verdict? In fact he publicly discussed active trials where the decedent is implicated with him personally.

The jury can't see Biden's tweets unless they are reading social media, which isn't authorized. Cruz is the first to criticize anyone outside his party of lying, cheating racist, QAnon crazies, traitors, Grifters, white collar criminals and pedophiles. Cruz is the biggest hypocrite of all when it comes to calling out foolish people. I can't wait to vote him out.
