i liked burn after reading. kinda like an early 70's hangover thrilla. i think it will age well. more of a cinephile type movie than mainstream fodder. i understand why certain peeps would not like it, to each his own.
oh, and what i really wanted to say is that clooney doesn't bother me at all. he was a fairly late bloomer and has made damn good decisions, all things considered.
maybe you don't get it because you can't even tell who is in what movie. matt damon wasn't in burn after reading (which i liked a lot).
It was actually two separate thoughts, but I didn't do a good job of making that clear. Apologies. They both seemed like similar type movies to me. But BAR was still terrible.
While I didn't like "The American", I wouldn't go so far as to say it's one of the worst movies I've seen in theaters.
I see a lot of people are mentioning Burn After Reading. Although I think Up in the Air was great, I think Burn After Reading was among the worst movies I have ever seen, I absolutely hated it.
Movies I liked: Michael Clayton Ocean's 11, and 12 (haven't seen 13) Three Kings The Peacemaker Movies that were absolute crap: The Perfect Storm Batman & Robin Movies that others liked, but I didn't: From Dusk Til Dawn O Brother, Where Art Thou? Burn After Reading
usually when deciding what tv shows and movies to watch, i think to myself, "what has rhino17 from the bbs said he's hated recently" and go off that. it has served me well
He's the most overrated imo. Ashton Kutcher is the most terrible. I don't know how he i still getting leading roles.
Stopped taking you seriously after you said "Burn After Reading" was terrible. I will, however, add Batman & Robin to your list.
He certainly doesn't make mainstream movies, yet all his movies are usually pretty interesting with Up In The Air taking the top spot. That movie was fantastic, and it really should have been recognized more at the Oscars. Sure as hell was better than Slumdog Millionaire which won way too many awards.
