One of the rare comedians who actually make me laugh. I even thought the George Carlin Show was good and would buy it on DVD
When you actually look to see if Andrew Dice Clay still has anything left, its bad bad.. One of my first memories of cable tv was George Carlin cussing up a storm in a stand-up performance RIP
Are you speaking at his funeral? That's one heartfelt testimonial! George Carlin was a genius. I am glad someone put that image of "Class Clown" in this thread. I got that album when I was 13 years old and it changed my life.
Gonna miss old George. Read "Brain Droppings" on my honeymoon and went to his live show on my 8th anniversary.
This was a very funny man who was not only a great comedian but also a great social commentator. You will be missed George. You will be missed.
I wouldn't be the irascible, irreverent, misanthropic old coot I am today without George Carlin. If you go back and Youtube some stuff today listen to the rhythm of his language. It sounds like a spontaneous riff but it is actually crafted for beat, emphasis and timing. His genius, besides his utter disdain for human convention, was his mastery of the English language and his flawless delivery. I have to say though, in the last four or five years, he had become one dark and bitter dude. It was like he had gotten to a point where everyone loved him and he couldn't shock his audience with his regular level of vitriol anymore so he just went deeper into projecting utter loathing. I found his last years difficult to watch.
Carlin - baseball and football... <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/YphEUa5LPjM&hl=en"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/YphEUa5LPjM&hl=en" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>
Man, I just read this on Yahoo! when I got to work and my jaw just dropped. I agree with all the stuff said here about the man. Simply a legend... R.I.P.

This is horrible. It's the news you knew was coming soon, but didn't want to hear... My very first live concert was a Geroge Carlin show in Des Moines. I've never been the same since. Man. What a bummer. RIP George.
My favorite stand up ever. Funny thing...I was watching Thomas the Train with my 2 year old yesterday. I've watched this with him 1,000 times. I just noticed for the first time yesterday who the narrator was...George Carlin. I always thought the voice sounded familiar, but no way I would even consider the fact that GC was narrating children's cartoons.
Good point. I think the way he called society on its BS was equally important as the laughs he gave us.
