Hey geo losers, I own all you guys. http://www.geoguessr.com/?v=eyJ0b3R...zNDM0NjUsMTcxLjMzNjI3MTc2Mjg0NzksNjQ3Nl1dfQ==
Yeah I think Google searching street/business/etc. names and addresses takes the fun out of it. You should only use what you see in your surroundings.
24323. Totally cheated. http://www.geoguessr.com?v=eyJ0b3Rh...lbmdlIjpmYWxzZSwiY2hhbGxlbmdlU2NvcmUiOm51bGx9
Doing fine until I got dropped underwater at one point. There were lush coral reefs and a giant tortoise with huge eyes looking at me, no kidding. Looked like Galapagos but turned out to be somewhere near the east coast of Australia. But who's to know? It's underwater fgs!
I decided to use google and google maps (but no street view) to see how close it would get me. Got China and Japan confused at one point but it was still a lot of fun. 26856 points in total. http://www.geoguessr.com?v=eyJ0b3Rh...uZ2UiOmZhbHNlLCJjaGFsbGVuZ2VTY29yZSI6bnVsbH0=
lol, it looks like an African inn or hotel. This is a fun way to enjoy multiple series of quantum leap on my couch, without Scott Bakula (not a fan), though.

I think searching around and finding clues that I could use is what made it fun. My first one I got dropped right in front of the globe at Universal Studios, Florida. Easy. I got dropped in the middle of nowhere. I kind of guessed I was in Kansas but trying to figure out where exactly would be impossible. All I saw was a highway and a wheat field. My last one I got dropped off near the border of Romania and Moldova. I had to search forever to find any kind of clue, any kind of writing. Again, it would be next to impossible to find out where you were if you didn't move around and look for stuff. That's not fun to me. The looking for clues, especially in languages you don't speak, and using those to find your bearing is what made it fun for me.
Seriously playing it while using Google is totally lame. Fun and addictive but already seeing repeat maps.
The developer just launched this project and he said he will keep adding maps and try to randomize it more in the future.
man, some of you guys have google maps or another maps website open in a second window so you can search the road signs, etc, up and then just simply have the location perfectly pinpointed for you. i did mine with no external help at all and just blind guesses. (unless I knew the exact location already, which has a seriously small chance unless you've travelled to almost all corners of the world, incl. Rural Villages.
